  1. Just now, SIOUXHKYFRK said:

You serious???  Stopped the breakaway, D let's them get the puck to the front and you think that's on scheel?

He’s been super shaky tonight, can’t give him the cage again tomorrow. A Peewee should’ve kept that second goal out.

  2. Agreed, I'm actually shocked stetch is on the list of potential departures. I get that he's an UDFA but the kid had 13 or 14 pts. He needs one more year before he goes to the A. I would think he is 99% coming back.

I think part of it is how great he played at the end of the year

  3. Agreed. Additionally, these high end kids want to play with other good players to ensure their stats are good.

One of our best players ever (Parise) committed after we lost to Minnesota at home. It's not so much about the result of the game as it is the atmosphere and their experience on campus.

  4. Here's some video on him.  He's good enough to earn a scholarship.  Was a 5th round USHL pick and a 6th round OHL pick.  According to Heisenberg he is the 4th best player in Ontario/Eastern Canada.  He was a forward 4 years ago and moved to Defense because of "natural instinct to trail the play."  I think with Evers and Chartrand, both more Defensive Defenseman, they were looking for someone with more of a scoring pedigree. In 20 games he has 18 points, 2G 16A, with only 6 PIMS but he plays all situations for Brockville.

Looks like a slightly slower/ less agile clone of Troy Stecher

  5. This is exactly how I see it. Both teams skidded into the tourney, both came through and neither has to face BC in the semis. Everyone should be happy. Now they just have to make a game plan and see who has the better legs and better goalie. Sconnie and Ferris had great teams, UND beat them both. Nobody will be looking past the Sioux.

STOP BEING SO FRIENDLY AND RATIONAL

  6. Smokey is right in all of this

Seems like we are the only too who arent afrqid to take the green shades off and quit drinking the kool aid.

The kool aid is what gives the rest of us good spelling and proper sentence construction.

  7. You guys are most likely all right. The PSU police department is framing Hardee to get him out of the conference. They rented the van after Hardee dropped it off at the airport, drove it back to campus and ran into a parked vehicle.

I don't agree with the other UND fans that he could have hit something and not realized it, cars are pretty reactive vehicles. At the same time you sir will need to be questioned for brain damage because you are not very smart.

Still another school that obviously doesn't believe in giving their student athletes "their day in court.".

I'm having a hard time figuring out if you are being serious or not. They were involved in an altercation with the police, they went to jail, one guy had to be pepper sprayed. What other option was there other than suspending them until they meet with the coach and president? Or were you just being sarcastic?

  9. this whole new ralph thing is stupid. under that assumption shouldn't the ralph just attract recruits itself without und even scouting players? would und even have to offer scholarships as recruits would be lined up to get them on a first come first serve basis and every other team in the country gets und's leftovers? how is it that a recruit would choose another university over und becuase of the ralph? are all these kids that choose to go to another univeristy over und just plain idiots becaue they choose to play subpar conditions?

Exactly, if facilities were the only draw Oregon would win every college football game until the end of time. Their locker room is crazy, damn thing has its own barber shop.

  10. That loss and the regional final loss against DU when Parise/Bochenski were at UND stung about the same for me.

Those two years I for sure thought were destined to be title years...

Out shooing Michigan by 20 and losing in 2011 has always felt like payback for 97. I still can't believe we didn't win the national title that year. The shot margin was similar in 04 if i remember correctly, we hit a pipe in that game and Denver ended up winning the national title. I agree with your assessment, those are the two years that I thought we had the best team in the nation only to fall in the semis, heartbreak.

  11. NDSU is not better than Wisconsin. I would bet the farm that NDSU would not allow Wisconsin to get to the century mark in regulation. They've done that never under Saul as a coach. Wisconsin wasn't playing half court basketball at all. UND wasn't guarding, Wisconsin was shooting open shots and hitting, and UND would come down and force something. Like what JDub said, Wisconsin was allowing it because UND wasn't guarding and Wisconsin was hitting shots. I would put money down that if Wisconsin wasn't hitting shots you would have seen a different kind of game. Probably still be around what it was for score, but it would have been a different game.

I watched the UND-Wisconsin game. I was impressed with Huff. Guys a very good player. I was even impressed with some of the inside play, UND has some athletes that can play inside, but you fans don't seem to like them and you know them more than I do. They aren't going to post up, but they can get in and rebound off Huff driving. I was very impressed with UND on offense. They force alot, but they have players that can. With that being said, I was equally unimpressed with the defense. I don't see NDSU having any issues scoring on your defense. The issue will be if NDSU can stay consistent. Their offense played pretty well tonight and outran a Western Michigan team who's won 15 nonconference home games in a row.

It's going to be a good game. I think NDSU wins. I wouldn't be surprised if UND wins. Both teams have very good individual players who can get to the rim. Both teams have shooters. NDSU has an inside prescence. UND has players who can carry the team in spurts. NDSU plays defense. UND seems to like to run. NDSU is very good in defensive transition. UND likes to stay in transition, is good at it, and doesn't seem to use many sets.

What does an NDSU grad do if they lose their farm ;)

  12. College hockey should not be run like the NHL....or the AHL.......or even the ECHL. Most of these guys will never make it past the ECHL. They are here to get an education and play hockey while doing it. Keep the game and practices fun and expect good grades and good behavior in return. That would suit this team much better than the "structured, business-like" approach Hakstol has put in place.

Wait a second, so the guy who calls for the coach to be fired for not bringing a national championship to the school wants him to lighten up and drop the business-like approach? Good grades, check. Good behavior, mostly a check. He's graduating his kids and if you've ever met any of them they're having fun. You seem to be contradicting yourself with your posts. By the standards you just posted he's doing a great job.
