  1. Keep in mind that Duncs wasn't drafted so it may be somewhat riskyier for him to return. If he gets a solid deal I think he is gone. My prediction is Osh, Kozak, Chorney, Finley, and Duncan will all go.

I see what you are saying, not being drafted and all, but I think it is 50/50 he stays. What the AHL has to offer, will always be there. Another year to get better, another year at UND leading the Fighting Sioux, a degree to fall back on. It would take mid six figures to walk away from that, or a one way contract. I hope he stays . . . . either way I will cheer for him.

  2. When we moved into the Winter Sports Building in the early seventies there was the same discussion. The new place just didn't have the atmosphere as the old barn.

Maybe they were right, but no matter. More people are enjoying the Ralph and that's what's important.

It was pretty cool when you couldn't hear the guy next to you. I miss the noise, let's face it, it won't get that loud again unless Holy Cross comes to town and beats the Gophers. WOW ..... I don't think Holy Cross will ever forget that, or will we ever let the Gophers forget.

  3. I'm not saying I want Joe pushed out the door, all I've said is that of the list of potential players leaving-oshie, chorney, duncan and finley he would be number 4 on the list. I do think that if he did return he would be a huge assett instead of having 3 freshman defenseman inthe lineup on a itghtly basis we would only have 2 which could be huge.

Do you see Duncan leaving? I know he went to St. Louis last year with TJ, but I just don't see him leaving for AHL money. I hope he stays and wears the C next year. He is my son's hero, and I promised him if they make it to DC I will take him.

  4. To all the fans... wow! Denver was amazing. I have always known that Sioux fans travel well, but Denver was the icing on the cake. From Brooklyn's before the game (when you couldn't even move because it was THAT crowded) to the championship game on Saturday when us students started leading Notre Dame cheers, we are truly a program that should be envied. We have an amazing rink, an awesome team, and loyal, devoted fans that are willing to travel anywhere to watch the Sioux play.

Just how crowded was Brooklyn's you ask....

    Check it out for yourself...

  5. You said AFN do you mean Armed Forces Network? If so where are you stationed? Also, thank you for serving this great nation. I remember watching AFN when I was in the army and they used to show NHL games once in a while. During the Gulf War we befriended the people at AFN at Khobar Towers and were able to watch the Stars and Pens.

    Goon are you in Denver?

  6. Got in last night at 1:00 pm. Staying at the Red Lion, nice place, but its the one 8 miles from the arena. I can't beleive it is only $62, this would be at least $129/149 in St Louis. The snow is out and the car is covered. I might have to take the shuttle to down town.

Where is the Sioux Party in Denver? Has anyone picked a place? I can only hope we can find a place like last year in St. Louis, the cardnals where out of town and we crashed the bar/tent next to the ball park and drank the place dry. They even offered free beer for all sioux fans for an hour the next day for happy/ (get drunk cause we lost) hour.

Off to find tickets. Called the add in the paper upper deck starts at $135, and $235 for the glass for the first night. Let me know if you find a better deal.

    Every

    Sioux

    Player

    Needs a win

    2day

Life will be great when we win #8!!!

  7. We had tickets to the upper bowl last year in St. Louis, and bought tickets on the glass in the bar an hour before the game, and gave the other away to a father and son. The kid was cute!!!!

After we lost, we had entirely to much fun at the piano bar!!!!! Funny how they all know the Fighting Sioux fight song, and not the gophers. Ha!!!

  8. and it probably holds 18,000 people, i wouldnt worry a bit. if you are worried then buy some here or uscho as they pop up everyday, mostly upper level but with the 3 colorado schools out there will be tix to be had. its not like its in milwaukee with uw in it.

Last year I bought ice level seats for $100, and sat next to the sports illustrated photographer. I ended up giving my upper level seats away. However we played the second game on the first day and Maine had just lost..... and there sections were empty.

  9. You build it and they will come. Fargo is long overdue for a hockey arena. I have no doubt that it will be successful venture. The hockey base in Fargo/West Fargo/Moorhead is huge, on the youth level. The only piece missing was a decent venue to play. We have 88 squirt teams coming to Fargo in two weeks for the Flyers Internation tournment, with this facility, tournaments will keep getting bigger and better. Will it take away from the Sioux, absolutely not!!!! Sioux hockey is the best game in the State. People will drive a 250 miles away to watch a home game at the Ralph.

I couldn't be more excited to have Dean Blais coaching in Fargo. He will build a winning team, and people will always come out to watch a winner. Who knows maybe my kid will get a chance to play for him. What more could a guy ask for.

  10. I think Bo is going to get alot of ice time for the rest of the year. Boston will have more trades done before the trade deadline, and you will see them pull their youth up. I think he has a real shot at staying in Bean town. He did look a little nervous on the power play last night, but I was glad to see him score in the second. Kessel gets the winning goal for the night.
