  1. The Lamoreaux twins didn't get an NCAA title, but they gave this program instant credibility when it had none. That helped in recruiting and helped speed up Idalski's rebuilding timetable. Now it's time to knock Minnestoa off their pedestal. I am sick and stinking tired of seeing their smiling mugs on the front of the Star Tribune sports page. Putting a stop to this undefeated streak of theirs is a good first step to putting them back in their places. Beating them in the NCAA tournament will be the next step.

...............also I would add that it took Idalski to get here for the Lamoreaux twins to come. I may be wrong but that is my best guess.

    Great post! I totally agree!

  3. I'll be honest, I did not expect this start from the team. I thought there would be a bit of a struggle but it just seems to be picking up where the team left off last year. Now of course they still need to be challenged (the U series will do just that) and see where this team really is.

Well it is several things.......their depth, the goal-tending and the freshman are very dynamic.....especially on defense. Great recruiting by Idalski and Co.

  4. It will be growing with West Fargo, Bismarck, and Minot all building new high schools. Those are surging population areas and I can't see those cities keeping just one team per town. The skill is starting to get better all the time as well with a lot of kids from Fargo, West Fargo, Bismarck and Grand Forks sending kids to play college hockey.

  5. I think all those that omitted the Lamoureax's from post season honors whether it be 1st Team All Conference, Katzmier finalists, etc... should absolutely have their names publicized for purposely omitting the twins and maliciously withholding votes for them for postseason awards. As the World Tournament is proving they are arguably the 2 best players in the world. Of course, we already knew that after seeing just how good they were this season, even when teams were specifically designing their systems to stop them. Unfortunately, I believe they weren't given their due with post season accolades (not that the twins care about individual awards) as it appears that some people hold a grudge against them. It's unfortunately an injustice that can't be rectified- but this current tournament, is once again proving, and removing any doubt that the Lamoureax's are two of the top players in the world.

    .......THE TWO TOP PLAYERS!!!......no question!

  6. In the eyes of the ncaa, you "cooperated" like a bratty, back-talking 5 year old, or a suspect taken in custody who is cooperating with authorities. I guess it depends on how you define "cooperation".

Good God man go home. UND cooperated under every circumstance they were asked of. It was outside organizations that delayed the process. Go troll soemwhere else.

  7. You know this how? It's not like the shots were 50-25 in favor of UND and the Gophers won simply because they have a better goalie. The Gophers are better than UND at every position. I can't believe I'm even posting on womens hockey.

Sorry the Twins are the best players on the planet....period. Bozek is nice player as is Kessel and so are some of the other women players on the other college womens hockey powers. That being said Minnesota is not better at every positon than UND but the deciding factor is DEPTH. That is where Minnesota won the game.

  8. Sorry for the confustion, but are you suggesting that most of her assists come from all those shots she takes which are rebounds for her teammates and further, that the rebound assists are related to the skill of her teammates to put home said rebounds? So if she didn't shoot so much and her teammates couldn't put home the rebounds she'd be hosed?

I'm just saying in that game she was not impressive. I am sure she is a hell of a player but Bozek was clearly the best player on the ice that day other than the Twins of course.

  9. Imagine if the nation's assist leader passed more.

Well she sure didn't in that game. But yes, one does wonder. Now just Imagine if she had not taken all those shots with wide open girls and those girls didn't put home the rebound. Not bad for a Wisconsin girl.

  10. Idalski talked about this a little bit in the press conference after Saturday's game. Minnesota has had some games where it did face being down early and has responded in every circumstance by raising their level of play. Soux7 mentioned the size of Minnesota's defense. This is an issue for any team facing them plus it not just the size, they are very moblie and get the puck out of their zone very well. And the thing that maybe is the best weapon for coming from behind is their first line which is very difficult to deal with all-game long.

It not impossible for the Sioux to win but like I said earlier it would have been better to have been matched up with someone out east like Cornell out east for the first game. I would really like their chances in that senario.

Well said although I do disagree with you on one thing. Bozek, IMHO, is their best player....hands down, not even close. She is a mobile defensewoman. Amanda Kessel is fast but doesn't pass much. Brandt is very good too but tires easliy. The part I disagree with you on is the other defensewomen...very big but not that mobile. They clog the lanes with their size and long sticks. The Twins have to find a way to get that first goal. If they do early, it will be a barn burner.
