To those saying this games doesn't matter, I'm pretty sure that it could still effect the pairwise and the tournament seedings for SCSU -- not to mention the Sioux. Also, there are enough playoff games left that additional SCSU losses (paired with wins by competing teams) could make the path much more difficult once in the tournament. So, yeah, I think there is definitely something to still be playing for. Sounds to me like the SCSU homers are just upset at getting it handed to them by the Sioux..."oh yeah, we weren't really trying anyway."

I'm baffled by the most recent polls. In both, UND stayed put at #8, while Denver remained #7 in the USCHO and moved up to #6 in the USA poll. UND comes within a whisker of winning (or tying) on Friday night, then shuts them out on Saturday night, on the road I might add, and yet Denver stays ahead of UND or moves up. It's just proof to me that the pollsters are not following the games very closely. Also, the power rankings of Inside College Hockey are just as baffling. I've concluded that they make an attempt to cover all of their bases, while making sure that Eastern schools get better representation than the non-Eastern teams as a whole. Though it's the pairwise that matters most this time of year, I still find myself feeling confounded by the way the rankings fall out from week to week.

Someone mentioned earlier that we've been getting too pretty with the puck and with our shot selection. That's only going to work with the skill of the DOT line. Even there the pretty play can be way over used. Lines 2-4 just need to get the puck on net and look for second and third chances.

Yeah, the 12 slot included the bonus points. The 11t does not. We're probably further down the list when all the bonus points are added up. Doesn't matter either way if they just win tomorrow night and then go from there. You're right...this season is far from over.

Too many times I've seen teams fight back from a large deficit only to lose steam once they've pulled close or regained the lead. It just takes so much energy and focus, and sometimes there's a let down after the summit has been reached. Let's hope that's not happening here. I too like to hear a little emotion in Hak's voice. That's been one of my major gripes with his coaching style. Wouldn't mind seeing a little of that "never give the other guy any credit" attitude that the Blaiser used to show. Regarless, hope he tears 'em a new one behind closed doors.

Silver lining: DH identified a lot of things that can be changed for tomorrow night. It might be worse if we played well and still lost. He obviously believes that the team is capable of playing much better. He didn't sound happy at all. I like that. Maybe he'll light a fire under some of the loafers and we'll see a different "team" tomorrow night.
