  1. Watching the nightly from Fargo they covered the 29th annual POW on the Campus of NDSU. 12 Tribes 1500 attendees.

When is the last time UND has had a Pow Wow? If they have I missed it. UND was supposed to be the school with the good relationship with the natives right.

ii remember delivering pop early 70s just out of high school to the Native Building on campus. By EERC if I remember correctly. What's happened to the Natives on campus? Did they go away with the nickname? More natives at SU now than UND?  . More of Kelly's legacy? To Fargo with everything?

I'm just asking questions. What's  the truth.

They also get way more state money and investment from community companies.

Tailgating rigs or Corporate rigs at SU translates to city pride.

I’m all for trying new stuff but I don’t know how you make a spring game anymore exciting.  Fan interaction would be good but the games themselves are always pretty vanilla.

Homer do they try a little harder to be first class at SU?

Bus the team over to bismarck on friday morning...stop in jamestown and have the whole team pose for a photo in front of the world's biggest buffalo...trollin' at its best.

all the more reason to "rebuild" ourselves as the flagship university....i bet you would be surprised at how many people would attend if marketed correctly...get the high schools involved...get burgum out there...have caulkeand gretzy out there.

Right it's UND for all of ND. B4 1999 UND was treated as the flagship U. Thank you Tom Clifford and miss your. leadership.

Caution I have entered the web monsters zone 3 2 1.

    Lighten up guys

Bismarck bars don't even put the UND games on TV anymore. It would be me and 3 other people standing out in the cold watching them play.

What's next football only on the radio in the Fargo GF radio range.

  8. Tough for true freshman to come in and play Oline. Slayer and Waletzko have the weight each at 315. Waletzko a 2 star runs a 5.6. Where do you project him to play on the Oline?

For the hundredth time, other campuses have been cutting too.

I know you follow politics and what do they do. Say the same things over and over. People have short memories. If it's yesterday's news it's forgotten by most. So I keep saying what I believe to be the truth so people won't forget. Like any good politician.

Did UND currently have $6,000,000 in waste per year or will the University have to educate less students by cutting certain programs?

A bulldozer can solve a budget problem. With UND taking the bull by the horns and saying cut here first. Setting a great example.UND should and will continue to take it for the team. Lets clean up the waste here first. Leave the other campus alone.

    moser,

Again. At risk of repeating myself.

What are you, you personally, doing to make Grand Forks a better place to live?

Kvetching on the radio, and kvetching here, is the direct opposite.

Show me the business and jobs you've created. Heck, show me how you've improved someone else's business in Grand Forks. Have you gone and lobbied at the Legislature about your concerns? Or just even show me how you've volunteered with a Greater Grand Forks group to make Grand Forks, well, greater.

    I'll hang up and listen.

Dial tone, your right nobody's listening.

Wait, I hear the Calvarys Trumpet

You do know UND wasn’t the only college to cut academics/sports. Burgum made ALL North Dakota college and universities cut their budget.

Darrell wasn't it Dalyrymple that made all he cuts? All the colleges made cuts I guess. There was a recent politician who said you have to break it b4 you can fix it. The break down is still going on. Some or most will remain broken. Then you'll see one big winner. All thie cuts and maneuvering in Higher Ed have a game plan to it. And people are ignoring it.

Unless your Pres. Kennedy, oh wait, then the appropriations committee shoots arrows back?

It's kind interesting not much BLOWBACK from NDSU on these trying times?

On KNOX this afternoon the GF Cheer and Gumnastics programs in GF have folded and the only options for the GF residents is to drive to Fargo. Academic and Sports cuts at UND. The state owes GF 10 Million for repairing state roads and 10 Million for water treatment plant which they gave us less than other cities. A drone part that is limited in what it can or will do. But I’m still checking some sources on the parks potential. Low wage city.

Question the people in charge? They’ll just tell you blame the voters they’re the ones voted for the Legacy Fund. Don’t question us there’s nothing to see here. Ya right.

  14. Dr. Dexter Perkins UND prof speaks mind with his viewpoint in the GF Herald.  On staff since 1981 he is most likely retirement age. You get a little braver when don’t have to look for a new job. Heard a caller to KNOX today talking about how all the cuts and how they treat people is bad. His wife works there.

The last 2 UND professors to speak out and call this for what for it is are retirement age. If you don’t like being treated like crap here at UND quit go work some other place.

What they don’t  want you to do is speak out and question them. Good luck if you do.

  15. With UND winning football games at the Fargo Dome in the 90s they picked up the pace. Had SU won all the games in the 90s they would have still had the same plan. Distance themselves from UND get to  20000 in enrollmment and go FBS. When these guys meet in Fargo they look around at what's happening in FM they are confident in the fact that we can do this.

i'm sure Sioux Falls has that same group of guys that wants bigger better things in Sioux Falls. That group that makes most of the decisions there I wonder where they went to college. These guys have a plan. I think they would love D1 Basketball at Augustana.

Auggie isn't small and crappy compared to just the P5 and G5. It's small and crappy compared to the rest of the summit, the schools you're suggesting allow it to join them. Its enrollment is minuscule, it receives no state appropriation, and it doesn't have a legitimate endowment to make up for it. It has no business even being discussed as a potential summit member.

Crappy? Dollars cure that. NDSU has had that tag by some for decades.Dollars cure that to.

Good points. But they probably could draw 6000 for a D1 Basketball game.

Bison73 has it right. That ship has sailed.. As long as the current leaders are in control this is a situation that no longer can be changed.

Only to be a fly on the wall. But not that it's hard to figure out. The big $ people in Fargo and Sioux Falls  want big time in there town. I don't have a problem with big dreams. I do with the process.
