please don't start that, I am sorry but Tyler was a nice young man who had some issues that he tried to sort out..and did pretty good at it if I remember correctly. There is no need for us to continue to bring him up and say things that can be taken as low blows to him.

Monique and Jocelyne with one goal and one assist apiece so far in the Women's game vs. Russia. Score is 12-0 at the end of the second. 5 goals in the first and 7 in the second. Jenny Potter with another hat trick.

Back on topic, since I haven't seen any actual news on here in a couple of days...any word on how the petition is going/went? It is supposed to be sent to the council today or tomorrow right?
-
THANKS! Those are really good!

That depends on what fans you are with...I have met people from Maine, from Indiana, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, etc...who have no clue who NDSU is, but know about the WCHA and UND....I am not going to sit here and have a debate about which is more popular...basketball or hockey. Both are popular within their own right and I am a fan of both sports..It all depends on which side of the fence that you sit on. That being said, can we get this thread back to the UND nickname and not another NDSU/UND disagreement?
-
Funny....cause last time I checked....the WCHA had teams who were all DI in hockey...My bad.....and I dont think the Summit League comes up every time there is a NCAA DI selection show....they don't come up in the hockey one. Which before you go all "I didn't mention hockey" on me, etc...doesn't specify anything so you could essentially put any sport in there.

Not sure, we will find out more probably tomorrow during Media Day. That will tell us the most. I think he has been practicing though.
-
not sure if this is what you mean, but they have some neon Sioux things at the Sioux shop. Here is one of them if you want to check it out. Click Here

My thoughts and prayers are with both the Burkes and the Miami hockey team. John Buccigross wrote a great article in December about Brendan and Brian. If you want to read it, it can be found here. Brendan and Brian Burke

Shoot! Well, go out there and get them tomorrow Girls! Show the boys how to play since they can watch you this weekend and maybe learn how to score.
-
how are the girls playing tonight?
-
The announcers were talking on the tv during the third period about how hardhitting that the twins are and how playing with their brothers helped make them the players that they are.
-
The US team is leading 5-1 in the third tonight. M. Lamoureux has two assists tonight that I know of. Also, in the second intermission they had a little interview about the twins and making it to the Olympics together and Jacques was there for his game tomorrow vs. CC and spoke about his sisters.

true, but I am more liable to believe that it was the second option. Just because looking at the evidence brought forth, I can find ways to argue not guilty and I have had no legal training whatsoever. A person with legal experience would be even better.
-
Is it really that hard to believe that the verdict had nothing to do with him being a member of the hockey team? Yes, I am not naive enough to believe that this isnt a possibility, but I do have faith in the ability of people to look at the evidence and not the person. Not to mention the fact that he also got special treatment in had this been any other joe shmoe at UND, it never would have been big news cause no one cares. This is like people saying that Oshie got off the disorderly conduct charge for the elevator because he was a hockey player. No, he got off on that charge because the state would have gotten in trouble had they found him guilty since they were stuck in the elevator. I do not remember the exact reason or ruling for this, but I do remember discussing the incident with a lawyer that I know to see what he would say.

HAHA! Very familiar with that district...(and their b-ball team, unfortunately). They have a good school there though.. Moving on with talking about recruits though...any new recruits been on campus lately that we know about?
-
You wouldn't be in the Mayville Portland Clifford Galesburg School District? Forgive me if I forgot one of the schools, there are a ton of them in that district.

Most B O R I N G team in Sioux history
siouxforeverbaby replied to Ole in MSP's topic in Men's Hockey
You completely missed the point of my post and part of that is probably my fault. It was a sarcastic/trying to be funny way of saying that just because someone is trying to be positive does not mean that they are happy with the status quo. Trying to be positive is some people's way of making it through life in one piece. You can't know if we will see another NC under this team. I believe it was the 2000 team that was supposed to be the mediocore team and not do anything and yet they won the NC...and the 2001 team who was supposed to win it all did not. I am not asking that you apologize for questioning the coaching staff, all that I am asking is that you don't tell the rest of us that we are wrong for trying to be positive...Even if I am being positive, that doesn't mean that I am not questioning our team and our coaching staff...it means that I am trying to be positive and that is it. -
as they come available, they will be posted here Tickets Wanted/For Sale A lot of people check here first to see if people want tickets. It works to post here, but most people don't really read it when you post it in the hockey thread...Just trying to help.

Most B O R I N G team in Sioux history
siouxforeverbaby replied to Ole in MSP's topic in Men's Hockey
I apologize that I try not to be a negative nelly and remain positive when our team does still have a chance. Here, "THE SKY IS FALLING! THE SKY IS FALLING! OUR HOCKEY TEAM WILL NEVER WIN ANOTHER GAME AND WE MIGHT AS WELL CLOSE THE RALPH DOWN AND LOCK THE DOORS!" You want me to say that I am not happy with our teams performance, fine I am not happy with them. But I have every right to try to remain positive and see the glass as half full and not half empty. Just because this team is not like the other teams doesn't mean that they are never going to do anything. College Hockey is not what it used to be and it is unrealistic to say that our team should perform like the teams of (enter years here). Just my two cents. -
I don't really know....I think we can beat Bye, so I am not that worried about this week! J/K!!!!!! I definitly think we need this week teamwise and I think if we have two weeks of hard practice and we will be fine. Go Sioux Forever!

Depends on what you think a few years is? I would say that a few would mean the last 4 or 5, so I would say that the count is 2 presidents since one of them retired. and with ADs - 3....if you count Thomas who left on Feb. 18, 2005. This is of course not counting interim athletic directors. No one is saying that UND hasn't had its problems. But NDSU is having major problems right now, and you can not deny that. I am slightly confused on how UND's president retiring and a new one coming in caused problems? Kupchella required not because of an issue, but because he wanted to. Roger Thomas left to take a new job, which people do all the time. Buning is possibly the only one that you could say left under controversy. And UND as well as UND fans have admitted to that....so, how does that compare to you?
-
talked about in the game thread...but Sweeney mentioned that he got it today. and it isn't the "A", it is a "A"...Zajac and VV still have theirs.
-
trying to be positive....if we win at least one game in each of our next three series and we sweep Tech...and everyone else does what I think they are going to do...we can still finish in 5th place! If we sweep every weekend for the rest of the season and everyone else does what I think they are going to do....we can still finish in 4th place!

Eids is not in the net....ND timeout Hak, I completely trust you...but I really really do not like it when we pull the goalie...so can we work on this in practice this week?
