  1. I think your both right. After Central scored their third goal the Minot players started to hang their heads. There was still plenty of time left but they just looked beaten at that point. But overall I thought the West teams played pretty well.
  2. WILL NOT CANNOT BE STOPPED?? What the heck does that mean? It will be a South V Red River final again. And the best team will win (I hope RR) but unless, Congragts to the Bruins. By the way where is North for the 4th year in a row?, and W Fargo, as always. Grafton & GFC are here again, so don't knock Central for struggling to get to to state again, while other teams missed AGAIN! And moving the game to Fargo or Minot or Bismarck wouldn't change a thing!!!!
  3. Your right, unless there has been a rule change. The 3rd & 4th seeds have always been determined by how the 2 teams finished during the regular season, not by who beat who earlier in the tournament.
  4. I hear that when Jamestown goes back to the West next year Devils Lake will be moved into the East. Does anyone know if that is true? If this true I wonder how the Firebirds feel about this? It could mean a very long drought between state tournament appearances. On the other hand the Bluejays must be looking forward to going back to the west since they've made only one appearance at state since thier move to the east in '97. Kudos to the Bluejays for a gutsy effort this weekend.
  5. I overheard someone yesterday say that Shane wasn't feeling good. Might be why he isn't playing today.
  6. Although I have a hard time believing that Grafton would throw a game, it is in their best interest to avoid playing Central in a qualifying game. Grafton has had some very tough games with Central in the region tournament. Remember the '98 qualifying game between the two schools? Grafton beat a very weak Central team (only 7 wins that year) 2-1 in 4 overtime periods. And then there was the '00 semifinal lost to Central 1-0 in 3 OT's. But then again, Grafton has survived some very tough qualifying games in the past against some lower seeded teams. '01 4th seed Grafton beat 6th seed Jamestown 2-1in OT, '02 2nd seed Grafton beat 5th seed South in OT (2 OT's I think) and '04 4th seed Grafton beat 7th seed Shanley 6-5 in 2 OT's. Also they lost in '99 as the 3rd seed to 4th seed North 6-3 in a qualifying game. No, I doubt that Grafton threw the game, North has missed the last 3 state tournaments and is going to play very hard to avoid missing a fourth. So don't assume that Central will beat North tomorrow and don't assume the Grafton will beat West Fargo. I know the Spoilers beat the Packers handily this season but the Packers are hungry too, so who knows. Finally, I'm glad that the tournament is back at Purpur Arena. That atmosphere there on Friday nights and Saturdays during the tournament is always intense.
