  1. I think the Hobey Baker is a stretch for anyone coming out of this high school this year. But I guess you never know, you can do whatever you want if you put your mind to it. This senior class is truely amazing however. I was thinking how cool would it be if Weisgarber, Mihulka, Larson, Okland, and Klenow all made the Jets next year (assuming they try out). That's FIVE North Dakota boys on one team. Obviously it's a stretch but, I'm sure that would draw a big hometown crowd don't ya think?
  2. There is truth to this. Ross Monson practiced with the Bobcats before the high school season began and was asked to return after the high school season. Also Bismarck High goaltender Michael Hillman was asked to join the team. I do not think it is possible for these players to participate in games because i think NAHL rosters are frozen but I'm not sure. I pretty sure they can practice with them if they choose to do so. I've heard that Nick Klenow of Fargo North and Paul Weisgarber of Fargo South have joined the FM Jets. Any interesting information on that?
  3. great state tournament , i thought south would meet red river in the championship and it was a great game, congrats to weisgarber on Mr hockey and all the kids that made the all tourney team and all state honors. the championship game was a good battle but weisgarber was the difference. players like galt deichert and mihulka were fun to watch. its great to see a team like south win it as they have been so dedicated to winning a state title. the tournament officials were pretty good as far as i could tell and the guys behind the scenes that helped out at the ralph did a good job with coordinating the tounrnament. the only flaw in games i saw were the counting of shots, they were way off as some teams registered way more shots then what was "indicated" on the scoreboard or in the newspapers which gives some goalies less credit then they deserve but besides that lots of fun to watch and good luck to everyone next season and everyong moving on in the hockey world
  4. mike peluso and jeremy asheim(co mr hockey with gasparini in 92) both had 99 point seasons to add to that, come state tournament time bismarck highs goaltender quit the team and the backup played in the state tourney
  5. I agree with most of your imformation Doc. Minot is alot more disciplined under Burckhard and I think that Minot has the best Offense in the West with players like Dittus,Lundy,Stremick,Kelly,Schmidt, and Tollefson althought they have no standouts on defense they are not bad defensivley and their goalie can be very good at times. With Williston it is a tough break for them as they lost Liffrig,Erickson, and Lee. Williston will have to rely on Bustad, Jundt, Engberg and Reahak to accomplish anything past the 1st round of the State Tourney. With their goalie I dont beleive he is the best in the west but he has been solid as of late, most of his success(stats) is due to the solid defensive play of the team as he sees less than 20 shots a game. Devils Lake is definitely the hardest working team in the west as I'm sure any of the west coach's would say. They have a couple of guys up front who can bury the puck and their defense is very strong. The goaltending situation is as Doc stated "hot and cold" Groves can play very well at times but can also be unreliable at times it just depends on the day. Devils Lake could be a sleeper in the Tournament although i do not think they will beat Fargo South this group beleives they can beat anyone and could possibly suprise someone. With Bismarck they do have a very strong first line with players like Monson,Connel and whoever else they throw in on the line. The defense is shaky at times but also very strong at times. The backbone of the team is their goaltender who has stolen some wins for them.Bismarck's weak spot is their tendancy to take dumb penalties escpecially late in the game and it is normally from one of their top players. This team can be described as nothing else but inconsistent. Also the West Region All Tournament team. MHS- Dittus Stremick Hendrickson WHS- Erickson Jundt Haugenoe DL- Olson Everson BHS- Monson Connel Hillman Dingeman WEST REGION ATHLETE OF THE YEAR- Tyler Jundt COACH OF THE YEAR- Al Henry
  6. Speaking of players playing juniors after the season, has anyone heard about Jake Brown being looked at by tri-city? I don't know him or anything but this is what i've heard from some people.

  8. I do agree with the fact that anyone is entitled to post on this thread but I strongly agree with ND PRIDE in the sense that the posts made by the obvious "red river fans/players or whoever" are creating a hostile environment for logical unbiased posters. Someone voices their opinion and then in response an individual or in this case individuals lash out and attack them for disagreeing with them and having a different pespective on the topic. Not only does it seem immature but may result in the termination of this thread. Some advice for everyone is to as Lives-to-play-hockey-06 said " Please disregard all comments from this user/ and also other users that are visibly Red river hockey players." I do not think that anyone speaking highly of red river should be accused of being a player talking up his team but if the posts that are clearly inappropriate continue it is likley the disagreements will carry on
