Baseball is a great game to watch alone, but it is even better watching it with someone else. The pace of the game allows for dialog... either to teach the finer points of the game to an 8 year old, or debate with your buddies if Grady should have pulled Pedro after the 7th inning. James Earl Jones speech in Field of Dreams about the enduring nature of baseball always chokes me up. Hockey and baseball are both wonderfull sports... they are just watched in completely different ways.
The NBA is for hip-hop thugs... total trash.

I'm off to GPL to see the opposing viewpoint. Bitching and moaning about every non-call...hmnnn...that sounds like the Gopher fans in MY section. Well, along with the ones standing up and chanting "f*** the Sioux...f*** the Sioux" after the goal that was disallowed in the title game. Those clowns aren't a disgrace to the game.
And the "hit Bina again" that came out of my section at the X. Sioux fans aren't perfect either, but to come on here and offer up a complaint about Sioux fans disguised in a congrats just makes you look like a fool.

Great game by both teams to keep fighting all (most) of the way. In a game with many boneheaded moves (Hensick's 10 min major, Lammy mishandling the puck, Bina getting walked instead of taking the body, the list could go on...) I though one of the bigger blunders was made by Red when he pulled the goalie. I thought it was a bad move to pull the goalie before the face-off and before they had established possession. They were on the PP and only down by 2 goals.... not an insurmountable deficit (think UND coming back on BC in the 2001 title game down by two w/ about 4 min to play). You HAVE to establish possession first and then pull Sauer. And then not to keep him pulled after the Sioux scored the shorty is just a cue from the Coaches to the players that it's time to give up. Red's a great coach but I think he "Buckner-ed" this one big time.

Although I like the current size of the league at 10 teams, BSU is just such a good obvious fit in the WCHA. But, as has already been discussed elsewhere, pulling them from the CHA would spell death for that league.

It's a video clip...but it's R rated for partial nudity and someone throwing up.
Sounds like Christmas at my in-laws.

Excuse me, but I believe you meant to say "sudo-reporter", a title which I believe PCM has grown to accept. But just don't call him a pre-madona.
Nice work, as usual, Pat.

I've been waiting for this as much as anyone. It's been a long time coming. But we need to act with class, the class our boys display. No doubt the WCHA should be embarassed, from McLeod to Shepherd to Campion to the opposition and their coaching staff. Bottom line - win with class, lose with class. Ain't easy to do, and I cannot claim to be lilly-white in thie respect, but if we love our boys as much as we say we do, we'll do it, and do it gladly. NICE JOB BOYS!
Nice post DS, and I agree. Let's act like we have been there before, and not like a bunch of SCCC fans. The boys played like they are capable of playing... nothing more than that happened this weekend.

Let's quit bitching about the refs... it really makes Sioux fans look like cry babies. There were maybe a few qestionable calls last night, but let it go. The Sioux won the game. Sioux have to play a more disiplined game tonight.

I know it drives me crazy to see them play like this. Remember most if not all teams are relying on 18-20 year olds to lead their team, except UND who only has 25 year-old Canadians--sorry guys I could not pass up the cheapshot.
I think UND is in straight up crisis mode coming into this weekend. I think they thought they need to get 3or4 points and they way they played last night showed the might get 4.
I am ok with bumps in the road during the season. That is going to happen. What I don't want to happen is the losing to become contagious and spread like a disease
A cheap shot only stings if there is some truth to it... the Sioux have one of the youngest teams in the nation.

Anyone else see yesterday's Wall Street Journal about the growing number of penalties in youth hockey (obstruction type penalties)? In the article they mention Ryan Frendewey, an 18 year old from Lake Linden, MI playing for the Marquette Electricians. In the article he says he has dreamed about playing for UND or Colorado College since he was four. The concern of these players is that with much of the game being played by special teams, they have few opportunities to impress scouts with regula 5-on-5 play.

I'll be in Roseville... let's hope they have the game on.

I purchased mine through the Alumni office when they were first made available. They may not have any left, but they should be able to tell you how to get in touch with the artist. I received a letter a while back (year ago) from the artist saying that there were still some available... I would be surprised if they are all gone. It's a great painting and wish there were more Sioux Hockey themed ones like it.

I think this is out of the NC$$ jurisdiction.
Ooopps... what am I saying? The NC$$'s jurisdiction has no bounds.
