  1. Thanks. Any reviews on how Poolman did at forward? I suppose that was done because he would be less of a liability at forward while he gets used to the college game. Can't imagine Olson being a healthy scratch again considering how hard he plays on all his shifts..
  2. Does anyone know which players Hakstol sat on Saturday after Friday's loss? Olson doesn't seem to need reminding to crash the net and go hard every shift. Other players you need to drill it into their heads, but it seems instinctive with him or he's been well-coached. Physique and playing style like Mark Recchi..
  3. What you said. That about sums it up.. They weren't just losing draws after a hard-fought scramble, SCSU was winning most of those faceoffs cleanly. And how they can go hot against Miami in game 2 to cold most of tonight is baffling.. Game 1 last week was also like tonight, heart just not into the game..
  4. That's the most frustrating part of losing: not playing with intensity for 60 minutes. I wonder if this ho-hum attitude is contagious on the bench, this going-through-the motions crap. You would think the team leadership or coaching staff would notice this & do something like a call a TO, switch up the lines, change the strategy, just something to get back the momentum..
  5. So it's a lack of effort on ND's part? Or is SCSU just better?
  6. How are your boys Pattyn & Murphy doing?
  7. So is ND getting outhustled or are they overrated?
  8. ND looking less than stellar
  9. SCSU scores: 2-1 SCSU
  10. Start of 3rd: 1-1
  11. This is my first watching ND this year. How much do they miss N. Schmaltz?
  12. End of 2: 1-1
  13. ND getting owned for long stretches of play..
  14. I wonder if the big ice surface is causing some of the ND players to misplay their assignments or if SCSU is just outhustling them..
  15. It seems like SCSU is double-shifting Brodzinski..I hear his name called quite a bit..
  16. Cags scores 1-1
  17. SCSU is looking to latch onto a winner.
  18. ND has been brutal on faceoffs so far..
  19. I'll go to the ASU games (20 min. away) not to watch any hockey, but to watch their cheerleaders. If they are even as remotely hot as those jr. MILFS on Mill Ave., I am so there. It's like these hotties are a dime a dozen on the ASU main campus..
  20. My argument flatlines when the question of how many NCs has the Ralph brought us. It hasn't & it's frustrating. I think the Ralph has helped draw great recruits for Coach Hakstol over the last 12 years; & subsequently field dominant teams during the regular season. But for some reason they can't succeed in the one-&-done playoff scenario. I'm not on the inside of the program so I haven't a clue as to why they're always short in April. It makes for lively conversation during Happy Hour, but I don't think there's one tangible reason they don't win it all aside from horrendously bad luck.
  21. I agree that jk makes some very good points. Well thought-out points. I've been a Sioux hockey fan since 1972 so I have a lot of emotional investment in this team. I don't wish or hope anything for this team, those are verbs better left for less-established teams & their fans. I'll always be bragging this team up because I'm a homer to the core, just like true fans of other schools who've been following their teams for decades also. But how does stating that the REA is the end-all, be-all of college hockey arenas being arrogant? They do have the best rink, no questions asked, right?
  22. You sound like you're arguing just for the sake of arguing, plus throwing in references that people who think a facility makes a big difference are cultish. Do I have to put on a flame-retardant suit every time I discuss an issue with you? Of course having a first-rate facility makes a big difference. I didn't infer that a program couldn't start-up a D1 program without forking out $100 million +; I said that it makes a big difference in attracting big-time recruits. Go Sioux..
