  1. You know, I think the fact that his brother is out here could play an important factor in our favor (Obviously). I'm glad Eaves kind of forced him to make a decision right away because it sounds like he wasn't in favor of committing until he's completed his visits to other schools.

I'm starting to get good vibes on this one... ;):silly:

  2. I know I posted this earlier but doesn't it seem that we don't have many commitments for 2007 and up yet. The Badgers and the dirty Gophers seem to be racking the recruits up.This coaching staff seems to keep there cards pretty close to the vest compared to last staff as far as recruits go

Remember though we brought in 12 freshman this year so we don't need to recruit as heavily for that year. (depending on early departures)

  3. Don't pay attention to the dateline on that. That was just the date it was first posted. It gets updated pretty frequently. In fact, I updated some stuff on it today.

dave is right. I post as Maize on the 'cho. The fact that I get confused for Chris Heisenberg is pretty flattering though. I got a lot of visits from this site when someone linked to me earlier in this thread, so I figured I'd join up.

Cool, nice site by the way..

  4. Here's a link to some info on 2007 recruits and commitments to teams. The Dateline was from June 2005 and most of this has probably been discussed but still fun to read.

    Here's his take:

Derrick Lapoint-Eau Claire North HS(WI HS)-Big defenseman that is attracting a lot of attention. Being recruited by North Dakota, St. Cloud, Minnnesota, Mankato, Duluth. Will likely spend a year in the USHL before going to college. Brother is an equipment manager for North Dakota.WCHA Article.

    On Trupp:

Evan Trupp-Penticton(BCHL)-Committed to North Dakota-Small, talented playmaking forward from Anchorage, Alaska.

    On Lammy:

Mario Lamoreaux-Tri-Cities(USHL)-Has a scholarship offer to North Dakota for the 2007 season if he wants it. He will have to choose between North Dakota and Red Deer of the WHL.

    On Matson:

Taylor Matson-Academy of Holy Angels(MN HS)- A great stickhandler that is very dangerious in one-on-one situations. Could improve his finishing skills a bit. A bit underrated, but a very good hockey player. Very likely that he will choose to play for Minnesota. Also visited St. Cloud, Colorado College, and North Dakota.

    On Toews (2008):

David Toews-Colorado Outlaws AAA- Similar style of play to his brother Jonathan, who plays for North Dakota, but more of a power forward down low. Possibility that he could play in the WHL rather than college.

    On Tessier (2008):

Kelsey Tessier-Colorado Outlaws AAA-Best friend of David Toews. Ranked as 10th best player for QMJHL draft by ISS. Excellent vision and a great skater.

    On Murray:

Jordy Murray-Shattuck-St. Mary's-Son of Andy Murray, and brother of former North Dakota star Brady Murray. A decent player, but not in the same talent category as his older brother.

  5. Players outlined in bold I think are the ones we best got a shot at....Lapoint might be a reach though.

    Forwards:

    Drew Fisher, 2-6-87, USHL

    Jordan Willert, 11-6-87, USHL

    Aaron Marvin, 5-27-88, Warroad HS

    Mario Lamoureaux, 6-18-88, USHL

    Taylor Matson, 9-16-88, AHA HS

    Kelly Zajac, -88, Winnipeg Midgets

    Jason Gregoire, 2-24-89, MJHL

    Ben Winnett, 4-3-89, BCHL

    Lucas Bloodoff, 5-5-89, BCHL

    Colin Wilson, 10-20-89, USNDP

    Jordy Murray, 1-8-90, SSM

    Kelsey Tessier, 1-16-90, Colorado Midgets

    David Toews, 6-7-90, Colorado Midgets

    Defense:

    Kyle Hardwick, 10-24-86, USHL

    Derrick Lapoint, 5-13-88, WI HS

    Ben Blood, 3-15-89, SSM

    Erick Galt, ND HS

    Goal:

    Brad Theissen, 3-19-86, BCHL

    Alex Kangas, 5-28-87, USHL

    Beau Christian, Illinois Midgets

  6. i believe they do not have the rights to sell the blackhawks style anymore. they do release retro jerseys whenever the team wears them for a special reason like this year. im sure there will be a new retro jersey sold every year or 2 for sioux jersey junkies like myself and many others

They do it every 2 years... (2005) Green Star jersey...2yrs ago against Duluth (2003) in the Hall of Fame game (Green Sioux diagnal) and 2yrs previously to that (2001) in the last game played at the old ralph (White Blackhawk jersey with number on left shoulder)

  7. Got this from a CC message board, don't know how accurate it is:

    The recruiting trail

It is becoming increasingly popular for players being recruited by major college programs to commit during their junior year of high school. Holy Angels center Taylor Matson might be the next local standout to go that route.

Matson (5-10, 170), the leading scorer on the metro's top-ranked team, has drawn interest from the Gophers and is expected to make an unofficial visit to North Dakota soon. He already has made unofficial visits to Colorado College and St. Cloud State, and has drawn interest from Wisconsin.

Matson, who has good speed, has 15 goals and 34 assists in 17 games. One of his linemates is Jay Barriball, who has made a verbal commitment to play for the Gophers in 2007.

Matson said he grew up a Gophers fan, adding, "I'd love to play for the Gophers."

  8. Palmiscino's went for $250. And Prp's and Andy's went for A LOT more.???

The second best thing about getting a game played jersey is that the money goes back to the athletic department. Writing a check a couple times a year and only getting a thank you is ok BUT writing a check and getting a jersey......WOOO HOOO!!!!

I picked up Lundbohm's #5 black jersey for $375. It was pretty funny as I was in the shower on my cell phone trying to tell him what to bid as he's trying to talk me out of it and the next moment he's telling me to go for it as my phone was starting to cut out.

  9. Porter does't have the best vision on the ice but he can finish with the best of em. Stafford and Zajak would be able to find him and let him do the rest. I don't think you should even think about splitting up Osh and Toews with the numbers they've put up so far playing together.

I know what you mean but I kind of want to see if Toews could infuse some energy onto the 1st line, I don't want to say Zajac and Stafford are off to a slow start but I kind of wanted to see Zajac pick up where he left last year when he domanated play in the playoffs. ...but it's still early and Spirko is out so it might be expected.
