  1. I haven't been able to find anything too interesting in a couple of weeks. I believe there are still several good North Dakotans who are apparently undecided, including Evan Sauvageau, Travis Mertens, Ryan Kasowski and Jake Landry, all of whom I believe either have visited or will visit UND, along with other North Dakota possibilities including Dylan Glaser, Cole Zarak and Zack Winkler (I have no idea whether there has been any mutual interest between the latter three and UND).

I don't believe this year's group of North Dakota recruits will be as good as last year's for UND, so hopefully we do very well in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The other unknown factors are whether we get any impact transfers, or jucos. Those have been pretty rare in the past, but you never know when another Travis Lueck or Glen Mathews may show up.

Word up north is that Winkler is headed to Minnesota Duluth. I have also heard that he has yet to decide if he is going to play football, he might just go to school. Maybe your Cavalier connection can help you with this Neche kid........

  2. Star, I do not see the evidence in the link you provided that Denver was offered a spot in the Big Sky. I see that there were talks, but where does it say that an offer was made to Denver? Hell the Sky has talked to NDSU too, does that mean we have had an offer in your world? It's been a long day at work, maybe I missed it. :D

  3. Kevin Aronson was from Crary. Kevin Burckhard was from Lakota. Did they both play at Lake Region for two years? I should remember but don't.

This topic about missed high school players was covered a while back on this board.

Alot of these misses were after Mac left and that is no coincidence.

Yes, they both played at Lake Region for two years. I believe Burckhard's dad played for the Sioux back when Phil Jackson was at UND, so there were some roots there already.

  4. He's 6'3" and somewhere in the 210 range. His top-end speed is very good, but I doubt his 40 time is anything spectacular judging by what I saw of him in the 100 meters last spring. He'd invariably be last or at least close to last for the first 20-30 meters, but then run down everybody by the end of the race.

As far as his recruitment is concerned, let's hope Oksendahl, Trenbeath and Sundby are very persuasive. ;)

Word out of Cavalier is that Anderson is leaning towards going to UND, but I want to stress that this is only second hand information I heard from some UND boosters that live in Cavalier. They said coach Oksendahl is bitter that NDSU did not recruit his son and therefore he is making it hard on the Bison coaches. Again I want to stress this is what I was told from UND fans that live in Cavalier. I don't need SMN saying that I am just making up excuses when and if Anderson lands with the Sioux. Either program would be lucky to have him, a solid player and a good kid from what I am told.

  5. Totally agree just wish we knew who those kids were?...I think we have missed on a few..Lindgren,Burkhart,Arenson,..to name a few....or what would be nice is to get a Nick Jacobson,Jeff Boschee,John Godfread to stay home.....

Both Burkhart and Arenson wanted to play for the Sioux but Glass wouldn't take them. Instead they both landed at St. Cloud for a red shirt year. For whatever reason they both left St. Cloud and went to Northern and Moorhead where they were great players. Rich missed out on some big time local talent with those two. Not only were they great players, they are good people too.

  6. We all know that NDSU would roll over like a puppy to have its tummy rubbed if the NCAA found a reason to hang the "hostile and abusive" label on it.

Ummmm, what does this have to do with anything about the NCAA and their ruling? Why are you dragging NDSU into this? I know most of you guys could care less what some Bison fan thinks, but you are getting screwed and I think it's wrong. So good luck with your fight, I just hope it doesn't cost the ND tax payer anything.

One other thing totally off topic, but since I really don't post here I thought I'd say it....I'm very impressed with your football team this year.......I think you might be hanging another banner when it is all said and done.....good luck the rest of the way......

  7. Not familiar with the case, so can't answer that (not a hockey fan at all--sorry, and no offense to the vast majority of you who love the game, but I just don't get it)....I've wondered about the D1/D2 thing, but to the best of my knowledge there's no differentiation when it comes to recruiting rules....

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

My guess is because Lou Nanne is a supporter of the University of MN and people like that are not allowed to make visits or calls on the behalf of the school.....Now if Lou was on the coaching staff of the Gophers, then again it is my guess that it would be fine. I don't think it has anything to do with the DI vs DII thing.

    Or what GCWaters said................
