  1. Good for you, Tim. He's good enough to get a contract. I'm surprised there wasn't more interest in him at the end of the season. That's what happens when a team finishes in 8th place, I guess. A natural hat-trick is a pretty good way to start your post-college play!

    Thanks, Ryan

Bayda was one of my favorite all-time players at UND. He was the perfect compliment to the high-flying top lines of the Sioux in the two seasons prior to this. The guy has excellent timing and perception of plays as they develop. I'm sure he will do will in the pros. Not to mention the fact that he'll earn a lifetime's salary in a few short years! Good luck, Ryan.
  3. I looked over the recruits redshirted last season and there are some excellent all-around atheletes in there. Also, it was a very large incoming class, so it will be hard to say who gets the nod from Lennon to play this year. UND loses a good portion of its scoring punch and its defensive stars, so I wouldn't predict that UND win the NCC. However, they do bring Klosterman back and the offensive line will be big as always. I figure NDSU will be stronger than they showed this year. Their recruiting class from a year ago also looked great. Defensively, I wonder how strong the Sioux will be. They lost a couple of dominant seniors there. There are just so many unknowns going into this Fall. One thing is for certain...UND will be good. How good is a huge question, but that question has loomed over Sioux football for years, and they finally got the first championship. Go Sioux!
  4. It looked to me like Bochenski did have some energy and the will to win out there. I remember this great move he put on against Mankato (during the 0-6 drubbing in G.F.) where he tried to outskate a defensive guy but couldn't, so he dropped the puck between his legs and spun to the outside to end by putting a shot right on the 5 hole and nearly scored. It was a thing of beauty. Dagies, you have a point. Remember, though, the kid was just another freshman. He was the only freshman who made a real mark on the team. He's got great potential, but I do agree with you that the kid needs to work on playing a more complete game if he ever wants to play beyond college. No Sioux in the playoffs? How can this be?
  5. Parise is exactly what UND needs - a little flash. Not cocky or goonish, just pure talent as a playmaker. It seems like UND went after goal-scorers last season and got a little burnt by the lack of QB's on their lines. Hopefully, next season, McMahon, Bayda & Parise will be able to fill those rolls a little better. It sucks royally that we are not in the playoffs!
