Just curious Hockey101, is "we will see what happens" a question?
-
I expect both goalies to play strong and have a low scoring game....RR 3-2
-
I don't know if anyone else saw that longtime NASCAR driver Bobby Hamilton passed away after a battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed.
-
Ya, DL is the real deal alright.
-
Erik Johnson 3-1
-
Just shows how classy Minot is....Hopefully he will have his ass handed to him when they play a good team from the East. The West is so bad, and not deserving of their own thread.
-
I dont know who your kidding with Kyle Radke on that list.
-
I assume your birth date is correct, but as I remember Oshie was a few days too old to play in it last year.
Oooo i see what your saying....he just played even though he was to old?
-
Based on hearsay alone after the first rush of games have gone through I would rate the east as follows:
1) South- really good gut feeling about them
2) Red River- had the chance to watch them play, looked very quick and moved the puck well
3) Grafton- Goaltending issues
4) Devils Lake- not too sure about these guys, only beat Jtown by a goal, when Dickinson was able to handle Jamestown by 4
5) Fargo North- couple nice wins picked up this weekend
6) Central- have not impressed me with their style of play, i don't believe it will translate well with the new rules
7) West Fargo- similar to Central, will take a lot of penalties
tie8) Shanley- REBUILDING
tie8) Wahpeton- will steal one at home from my Deacons.
Prediction for tonight: South 4 GPR- 2
I see no reason to have the "re" in front of building for Shanley. Have they ever actually been "built"?

Standing Rock Res has gotta be one of the top, but....i really like Belcourt. My Brudder lives there and its a great little town.
-
the flyers must be playing the raiders and the sugarkings and wheatkings in a new high school league
Ya, thats what i heard too.
-
Who are the flyers? And i wouldnt be jumping to any conclusions on Arnason untill he proves himself. Also, how do you know Burdick will even be on varsity?
-
I would, if I hadn't just seen it last month in Fargo...
For those of you who have not had the privilege of seeing the Cup up close, I highly recommend you go.
Great Pic, Nice lookin family. I will also be at the Ralph with my kids and camera. Hopefully we can get a good pic for the christmas card.

Id have to agree with Soohockey to an extent but i belive it dropped a few more spots due to competitive eating, and frolf.

I've been hearing a lot about David Spies, and his ability to hit a baseball. He will be playing for the Fighting Sioux baseball team and he will be on a scholarship. Scources have said he batted in the range of .470 for the Royals the past season. If anyone has any info on this top prospect please let me know. I also heard he was regocnized on the Field Turf at the Dome for winning a field of dreams scholarship. Sounds like a class act.

I am not very familiar with players from the west, but im sure they will have some qaulity players that we will be talking about as the season gets going. As far as the east goes, here are my players to watch...
Fargo South- Shawn Deichert (could battle hillman for a mr. hockey run), Danny Wurden ( one of souths top defensemen last year), Ian Powers (should be interesting to see if he can still put up good numbers without weisgarber and larson on his line)
Red River- Jarret Galbreath (one of the top two defensemen in the state this year), Ryan Ladeuceur (other one of the two top defensemen in the state this year), Eric Meland ( very talented player, could possibly lead the state in scoring)
Grand Forks Central- Alex Simonson ( good skill, needs someone to get him the puck)...central could have a tough year, but they always turn it on come tournament time
Grafton- Zac Miller, Tanner hills (both skilled forwards that put up a lot of points), Luke Paulson
Fargo North- Tyler klein, Tanner Bombenger...besides these two, north will be in the hurt-bag
West Fargo- Tyer Swanson (very good defenseman, both defensively and offensively)...not very deep
*** As for players out west, I would say that Michael Hillman will have another outstanding year, and tyrell mcbain could be a player to watch out for. Nathan Stremick is also a good player....these are just the players i can think of off the top of my head, so dont rape me for leaving somebody from your team off the list.
I dont think anyone was planning on raping you.

Where woudl they play in Bismarck that could hold 7-9 thousand people? O, wait, nowhere and there would be nowhere near the attendance. Completely riduculous argument, untill there is a reasonable facility there is no way it shoudl leave GF.
-
As far as rotating the state tournament is concerned that should be a dead issue. Having it in Grand Forks increases both the attendance and the enjoyment of the players. The Engelstad gives the state tournament a sort of majestic feel. I dont see this rule changing anytime soon.
Where would they play other than Grand Forks?
-
Wow, good story Could you explain the rambling that went on in that, i find no meaning.
-
Paul Cambell quit the tryout, John Greciar was injured, Brad Benke was also injured; all at the Jets Tryout.
-
So you are saying that asking for clarification on the truth of a rumor isn't using your head?
Attacking a person for asking a simple question, as unbelievable as it may be, is simply wrong. I certainly hope junior24, that you simply hit "Submit" before rereading this quoted post and saying it the way you did was simply poor judgement. As you assert: use your head.
Wow. You have talked in previous post as if you have some knowledge of high school hockey in North Dakota. If you had knowledge as you made it sound you would know that being drafted in the NHL is pretty far fetched, and none the less in the first round.
Yours Truely,
"Use your Head"

Wow Lives to play06, get it together. Even if someone told you that, anyone with an IQ higher than 6 would be smart enough to figure out it that it is far from the truth. I could find at least five players in the EDC that I would take over him, let alone the world. Its comments like that, that have no reason to be on here; use your head.

I'm guessing that these will be some of the top seniors next year - Kyle Everson (DL), Michael Mack (DL), Tyler Klein (FN), Matt Labernik (FN), Danny Wurden (South), Sean Deichert (South), Zach Miller (GPR), Tanner Hills (GPR), Nathan Stremick (Minot), Shawn Erickson (Williston), Kyle Haugenoe (Williston)
That's just from what I know, I don't have any information on some of the other teams.. What does everyone else think?
And another question, who will be some good Juniors this coming hockey season?
Good juniors, from RR-Ladoucer, Galbreath, Meland, GFC, Siminson, WF-Swanson FS-Powers(senior age)
2006-2007 ND High School Hockey
in Non-collegiate sports

I dont think you have any right to be bashing Simonson for quitting unless you KNOW the circumstance. Knowing does not mean that someone told you that he quit because practice was to hard. He has to sit out and serve his transfew suspension and will not be able to play Varsity this year. Why aren't you ripping on McBain for transferring??
On a side note, Tyrel McBain was nothing special in the JV game. Not a very strong skater, he doesnt pass the puck, and shoots it every oppertunity he has. I think he will be battling for any playing time on varsity.
