  1. Haven't posted in the hockey forum for some time now. Y'all know me as a Bison fan, and not a supporter of most anything related to UND. It's nothing personal with any of you, it just is what it is. However, I've been a Sioux hockey fan for about 14 years or so. I didn't bandwagon immediately following the 2000 title, but I do remember watching that game with some friends up in GF. I remember thinking of how tough it was to root for UND in anything, but I had been getting into hockey more and more leading up to that point. I was proud to be a ND kid and learned to hate the Gophers (like I learned to hate another school when I was growing up) and figured since NDSU didn't have hockey, there shouldn't be any reason I couldn't cheer for UND. Anywho, short story long, I still follow your hockey team pretty closely.

Looking forward to seeing them beat the Gophers in the FF, and maybe bringing #8 back to GF. I'll be watching it with a large group of friends that mostly went to MHD High, so naturally most of them are Gopher fans.

  2. First and foremost, it wasn't my intention at all to smack talk, troll, or even brag up "FU". From what I read with certain posters in reply to my OP, it seems you interpreted it as such. I appreciate those of you that could tell I was being sincere and came to my defense. If anyone asked why I was even posting in your recruiting thread, I thought I made that pretty clear. "FU" and UND are going after the same recruit. And what better place to discuss that than in your recruiting thread?. We'd really like to get Ezra, and don't believe anyone on "Bison_swille" who says otherwise. We only return a few experienced D-Linemen and they are ends. The interior will be young. But anyway, not here to talk about the Bison. As far as people on Bville knowing details about offers to kids. There are a few people on there that really do know a lot about recruiting. Someone on here said it best that there are people that know people in the program. Sure, sometimes people get things wrong, but most of the time they're spot on. And again, the previous poster that brought up the $$ amount of a partial versus a full ride. They're correct, sometimes that makes a huge difference. Regardless of championships, Gameday, etc....sometimes it does come down to money.

As far as my 119 posts, yeah I don't post here often. But I am a UND hockey fan. It's not easy sometimes rooting for UND hockey when I get responses such as the ones earlier in the thread. But whatever, it's a fan forum, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I'll admit, and I'm really not trying to upset anyone with this next statement. I don't like UND in any other sport, and frankly I like it when the Sioux lose in football. It's the honest truth. But I'm not here to go back and forth about that. Just trying to be civil and talk football.

  3. I have no intention of trolling, but I'll just put it out there that I am a Bison fan. What a great time of year it is with recruiting going on. I really enjoy following it closely and then watching recruits come in and flourish in a program. One of the reasons I'm here is to see what y'all have said and think about Ezra. I was under the assumption that he was coming to NDSU. Now I hear that you guys and UNI are in the mix. It's also my understanding that he has a friend and former teammate either going to UND or currently there. Please don't take this as smack at all, but from my perspective NDSU has won most of the recruiting battles with UND in the last few years. Things have got to turn around eventually in that department and I think your new staff will surely help. Getting Ezra, even if it's a full ride offer compared to maybe a partial from the Bison, would be a great get for UND.

  4. Normally when a player skates a long shift, it's selfish. But when Robert Morris stays on the ice for 60 minutes, it's OK because he doesn't have any teammates.

Also, he must have been the number one recruiting class the year he started, what with his immense versatility and stamina.

I lived down the street from a Jason Morris once. I wonder if they're cousins?

I plan on being there tonight. Go Sioux!!!

  5. Hey guys. My dad and I are taking the train to Washington this weekend for the Bison-EWU game. We'll be stuck on the train Friday night but I will have a laptop and WiFi is available. Is the Sioux-Mankato game going to have a webcast? If so, where can I find it and if it costs something, how much? Thanks in advance for any help.

  6. Are you guys having practices or what? Not much info in this thread about it. 1 article posted from the Herald, which I couldn't read, about a no huddle offense and that's it. I may not be a Sioux football fan but I still like to see what sort of team you guys are fielding this year. College hockey is over and you're not playing the Bison this year, so let's see some updates. Thanks.

  7. Long time listener....first time caller. Actually feels like forever since I last posted anything on SS.com but it's hockey time now so my attention shifts back north this time of year. I would like nothing more than to see the Sioux have a strong first half for a change. Don't get me wrong, I like nothing more than to see them make that second half push but it would be nice to be the best team in the conference all year instead of just the second half. I understand the time it takes for teams to develop chemistry but I sure hope it comes sooner this year rather than later. Let's get 4 this weekend and get ready for those nasty rodents. Go Sioux!!!

  8. Bison fans (or fans from any other NCC team for that matter) with history from the NCC days know the Sioux travel well, wherever they are playing.

My son is ten. He and his friends tried to tell me the other day that the Bison and Sioux are not rivals. Fact is, since they have been old enough to understand and follow sports, there haven't been any (spare me the minor sports) games between the two. There really is a generation coming up that has no idea.

I guess my point was, from someone that remembers the old NCC days, is that telling a Bison fan who only watches the Sioux play when they are playing the Bison, that are 70 miles to the south of you and you're biggest rival, that you travel well isn't a good example. Obviously both schools fans bases are going to be well represented at each others place when those are the cirumstances. I'm wondering how many people would go to Montana not NDSU. I'm not going to know how many Sioux fans went to USD, SDSU, Mankato, UNO, Auggie, or St. Cloud for a game unless maybe I saw some figures on here. And trust me, I have a pretty good idea of our rivalry.

  9. If this quote from a self professed Bison fan doesn't illustrate how this rivalry has been dormant too long I don't know what does. There's a generation of fans that has no idea...

I'm a little confused about this reply. If you're referring to how well Sioux fans travel and using the Bison-Sioux rivalry game as an example, I don't think that's a good example of fan support. Obviously Sioux fans from Fargo would be at the dome for a game between us and I'm sure you could get quite a few to come down from GF since it's only 70 miles away.

If you're referring to a Montana-Sioux rivalry, then I apologize, and you're right, I have no idea. I was basically just saying that you should have alot of fans at that game because of the short drive to get there, the traditional program that is Montana, and a great venue for football.

  10. I'm envious for sure. I'd love to see the Griz or Bobcats come to the FFD to play the Bison. I think ya'll should just be excited you get to play an FCS team of that caliber no matter where it's at. I would'nt hold my breath on them making the return trip. Personally I'd rather see Montana St. come to Fargo so we can return the favor of them beating us a few years ago. Montana on the other hand, been there, done that. Not sure how well you guys travel, but you should be able to get quite a few Sioux fans out there for that game. I'd be there for sure if it was the green and gold, no doubt about it. I'm curious to see how many fellow Bison fans I'll see @ Iowa St. in two weeks......can't wait!!!

  11. Can't remember the name of the site, but I found this list of schools with open dates for Sept. 12th. Any possibilities here ?

    UW-Stevens Point

    Wesley

    Whittier

    Widener

  12. I think it's because so many of them have trouble spelling "Sioux" properly.:D

Could have sworn it was Sue the whole time. That's why I never find this place searching for suesports.com. If that's to smacky I apologize, could'nt resist.
