It is disappointing that "Sioux Fans" are so upset that they think the team should not be honored just like the past Frozen Four teams. Any fan who was around watching the Sioux in the post 1987 to pre-1996 season realizes how remarkable the past 4 years have been. As a fan, it is ridiculous to feel that the team let you down by losing on the ice. The team can only let fans down by behaving in a way that does not promote a good reputation for the University or hockey team. For as much as I wanted us to win, I know the team wanted to win even more. I hope this event is scheduled sooner than later so we can thank guys like Oshie, Duncan, Chorney, Finley, Lamoreux, and Kaip before they leave Grand Forks.
This is one of the most successful periods of time in the history of a very elite hockey power. Number 8 would have been great but losing in the National Semifinals does not negate the entire seasons accomplishments. I hope the fans who feel an event should be postponed so they (the fans) can cool off take advantage of the coming months and use the time including the Fan appreciation night to cool off. If you can only recognize National Champions as contributors to the UND hockey tradition then you have only been a "fan" seven times in the history of the program.
On a side note, BC coach York has had his team to the Frozen Four 8 times and has won only 2 NCAA championships. I have a feeling the Hak can surpass both of those numbers.

Interesting to see the Sammy Sioux patch on the left elbow of Reggie's jersey.
Would be kind of cool to get a patch like that to add to the AZSIOUX throwback.

I am gonna buy an authentic this week, how do they fit compared to the replicas? Are they about the same or are they sized larger? Also anyone know a discount code for siouxshop.com?
I wear an XL replica and I have found that either a 52 or 54 fit well in the authentics. The 54 is obviously a little bigger in the body.

That must be correct. Gametracker has it at 32 - 16. Clarkson has dominated most of the action throughout. If they didn't have penalties JBSU would have maybe half that many shots.

Vande is the best as evident on the power play, but it is hard to put all you stars on one line.
I agree that during the regular season it is best to spread out the stars but during a playoff run there is something to putting out one really strong line. It would be neat to see us start the game with Oshie, Duncan, Kozek on 1st line and then come out in the second and third period with Oshie, Duncan, VV. I think giving 2 pretty different feels with the first line in a playoff game would be hard for non-WCHA teams to adjust defensively. Against the WCHA, this strategy would lose a little effectiveness due to familiarity.

I like Frank. He's knows more about hockey than most people on any fan board will every hope to know. There's a reason he wins regional Emmys for his work. He's damn good at his job.
pstar was also surprised Lamoureux was a top 10 Hobey finalist.

I was wondering if anyone else has not received their playoff tickets in the mail yet?
I ordered online and still have not gotten them in the mail. I am excited for the games but would like to know if I should expect the tickets soon or if I need to call Ticketmaster.

I am a dinosaur student compared to most...I first attended UND in '97 and I have been a Sioux fan my whole life. It was obvious it would sell out and sell out quickly. Those who stood in line took a chance that the 2-3 window tellers would be faster then the internet. Oops
I actually went to the Ralph to get tickets after the online ticket sales weren't working, saw the huge line at the Ralph and quickly returned to a place with online access and purchased tickets. It sucks for those who didn;t get tickets but in my opinion it is still a better system then having to stand in line for half a day or more for tickets.

I know they started using them around 1993 but I don't know when they stopped...obviously sometime before the 1997 National Championship.
