  1. Still don't get it, but Kimbrough did very well at State....medaled in all 3 events...can't wait for basketball!
  2. I'm sorry...what does that mean?
  3. For anyone going through withdrawls of not seeing some basketball for a while, Baagasan and Kimbrough will be team mates playing in the Section 8 All-Star game at Bemidji State on Wednesday, the 27th, at 6:30pm. Might be fun to see a glimpse of things to come!!
  4. weather aside...(some of these top-notched athletes are already from this remote, frigid area and choose to remain close...and people are nice for the most part)..lets not forget that UND has an excellent offering in courses which could draw a few...aviation..medicine...law...I'm not saying that's as impressive as Florida weather to a young kid..etc. I think the biggest drawback to recruiting when you have changed divisions is the length of time to actually get to play for something...how many athletes want to come and spend their 4 years playing games that "don't really matter" or with no chance of playing for a NC for X number of years.....I think that should be changed.
  5. are the Elite 8 games televised??? How about the Final 4?? If so...where...thanks in advance if you know
  6. I would say it is surprising...not taking away from the 5 fine players selected first team, but given Kimbrough is a Miss Basketball finalist and her stats....very surprising!
  7. I see the rumor has finally made it to the gopher board. i would give you the link, but I don't know how Any way....if you go to the gopher e-z board it is discussed there...according to them...her parents were at the state tournament and it is not true...there is some discussion of not blaming her if she did, however...any way...never say never!!!
  8. Thanks...we'll be there cheering loud then..Go Sioux!!!
  9. I'm not sure it will ever happen either, but I know that a lot of players seem to have personality conflicts with Coach Borton. It has been mentioned several times on the gopher board, but I have yet to see anything about this rumor...we'll have to see come post season what transpires....
  10. I just tried to get tickets for Fridays game on ticket master, but it says they are not available for individual sessions until Friday at 11:00 am. Can you buy them at the door or do you think that will be a problem with a sell out or something?? The tickets are available for the whole tournament, but don't know if we can make all of them...any ideas?
  11. In the paper, I think it said game times would be announced today. Does anyone know what time on Friday the Sioux play?
  12. I don't know what they use to determine who wins the award, but as I've said before, it seems to always go to a more metro player who is going to the U of M. All five are definately talented girls. I have seen Kimbrough play against Ellis-Milan. The feeling was if you could hold her to 30, you were doing good. Kimbrough held her to 11 while scoring 21 herself. Ohm has great numbers, but besides the career scoring record which will stand for many years, I think Kimbroughs numbers are better, especially if you go with number of games played. I was just looking at the Minnesota records page and she is up there on a lot of them. She may also be added to national stats with her shooting %, points in a season and in a career. I don't know if not making it to the state tournament will hurt as Nisleit and Kimbrough's teams didn't make it, but Section 8A is historically so strong that it is difficult to get there. It is still very good to be in the top 5 and it must be hard to decide as there is a lot of talent!
  13. Well it looks like Fosston and BGMR will face off tomorrow night in Crookston with a trip to the state tournament on the line. It is too bad the way the scheduling has worked out as it would be a great opportunity to see two future UND teammates play. Don't know which way it will go, but awfully impressive years for the new recruits...Kimbrough only 6 away for 1000 for the season and 4th all time so far for career scoring for girls and Bagaasan is having a banner year as well and moved into the top 10 for career scoring...it should be fun next year...good luck to both teams and also to the Fighting Sioux Women in their game on Friday!
  14. My bad....Kierah Kimbrough broke the Minnesota High School single season scoring record last night against WAO...she scored 46 points and is sitting at I think 902 for the year.. my info was wrong earlier...Congrats Kierah!!!
  15. IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE A FOSSTON/BGMR MATCH UP, BUT BGMR DOESN'T HAVE TO GET PASSED RLF, FOSSTON DOES. AS YOU WELL KNOW THO...AT TOURNAMNET TIME...EVERYONE IS 0-0 AND ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN...HAVE TO TAKE ONE GAME AT A TIME...ALSO...I BELIEVE KIMBROUGH IS ONLY ABOUT 81 AWAY FROM SINGLE SEASON SCORING RECORD.
  16. I see in the Star Tribune today that two of next years recruits..Kimbrough and Bagaasan are on the list of 25 for Minnesotas Miss Basketball..
  17. looking at the poll, it seems 89% prefer the Betty as a venue...why not poll people actually attending the games to get more of a response. Couldn't video capability be added?
  18. I agree wholeheartedly about Kimbrough...although I don't think she has a chance for Miss MN Basketball...and she should...it seems to be a Twin Cities based award...and she will probably reclaim the single season record after breaking it first last year too...and lets remember this is based on a 4 year career...not 6 years...but she deserves some state wide credit!
  19. WHAT A GREAT RECRUITING CLASS....LEDGER, BAGAASON.....AND WOW!!!!!!KIMBROUGH...WITH THE TALENT THEY ALREADY HAVE...GET READY BETTY....I FORSEE A DYNASTY!!!!!!
  20. Thanks for the info..I'll try to find it
  21. Does anyone know if you can get the UND-Gopher exhibition game on the radio or something if you don't live in GF?? It will be a good test for them....some key players are missing for the Gophers, however; I would have really liked to see Langen face off with McCarville...I wish them well
  22. Regarding all of the "inside information" on Kimbrough, I do know this....she has narrowed it down to Iowa State and UND. I don't know that she will even entertain any new offers from D-I as she has already turned down offers from Colorado State, Kansas State, New Mexico, Northwestern, NDSU, & SDSU etc. and too many D-II schools to mention. I also know she would like to sign during the early period, which is November 10, so she can enjoy her senior year of basketball. Therefore, new offers would not be a factor even if she wanted to deal with them. I would say proximity to home has a part to play and that is why both schools are still in it. As for the percentages of which way she'll go, I have no idea, I just know that that's where she's at now and either place will be very lucky to get her!
