  1. I'm heading out from Marquette, MI, and meeting a buddy from Yakima on Thursday. We're making a long weekend out of it and flying home on Monday. We've been making a tradition out of it, meeting up at Texas Tech and Fresno State games. Hopefully Hawaii for a game someday!

  2. Tech answers, 24-17 Texas

Watching from Marquette, Mi wearing my souvenir Texas Tech shirt from Lubbock. Had a great time down there and always liked your team, but the great treatment we received from your fan base has made me a fan for life. Stay within striking distance of Texas - I'd love to see you beat them again.

  3. I am so fired up for this trip! Leaving Marquette, MI early Thurs - should be in Lubbock 4:00 in the afternoon. Meeting a buddy from Yakima and plan to tear up (literally) a couple of golf courses on Fri and Sun. Looking forward to the whole "big school" experience. Expect to get blown out, but when expectations are low, who knows? Just gonna have fun!

  4. Time to start worrying about this again. I missed last season on satellite because I couldn't find anyone in the damned U.P. to aim my dish. My several manual attempts were futile. I have someone in town for the next week that might be able to help - but where are we aiming this year? Any input is appreciated.

  5. If all else fails try a Blind scan, then let us know what channels you pick up and at what Freq. We can then tell you what way to move the dish and if the LNB is setup correctly!

I don't really understand what a blind scan is. I have options for satellite scan and a "smart Search" option that can scan both horizontal and vertical. Would this be it?

Gotta get back to work now. Thanks for the replies.

  6. OK, I'm looking for help here. I live in Marquette, MI and have been watching on dish for 2 years and was able to guess and move to 93 west last year and had no problems. This year,I've tried everything I've read on here, watched the videos and no luck.

Finally paid a local guy to come over to help me aim, but he doesn't have very sophisticated equipment. Now we're pretty sure we've got a signal from 91 west, but I still can't get my receiver (Pansat 2700A) to scan in any channels at all. He seems to think that my box might need an upgrade, but would that make a difference because I'm not getting any channels?

I'm at my wit's end here. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks to NHL Network, I'll see a couple of games, and I've also paid for the streaming video. But I want to watch on my big screen!

  7. Time to have a cocktail..........it's my birthday in 1 hour 20 minutes!

Happy Birthday! Mine already started since I'm on Eastern Time. No cocktails tonight, tho - had a few last night.

  8. Thanks, Redwing and Puck Swami. I'm usually a lurker on these boards, and have been a diehard fan for 30 years, but I get so frustrated with the comments about how we suck we after losing a 1-0 road game to a very good team (and I despise the midget, too). I know the team has been up and down right now, and we certainly don't know everything that that's happening with "team chemistry".

I want to put #8 on my old folks' jacket as much as anyone. I am very pissed at losing tonight. I love reading these boards, but I get more pissed at the pissing and moaning here (did I use the word "pissed" enough there?) than anything else. Show some f'ing support and quit the "Al Gore says the Sky is Falling and we're all gonna die" theme.

Drinking and tired in Michigan, Blast away.

  9. I need help.

First off, I bought a fixed dish. Secondly, I have the misfortune of living in a sprsely populated area (the U.P.), where I'm having great difficulty finding anybody that has the knowledge and/or tools to get it re-aimed. All of the commercial people here either don't do it or their tech guy left. I've already missed a couple of football games and will go crazy if this is where I am when hockey starts.

Does anybody know if there's a "network" of knowledgable satellite aiming guys out there or "satellite aiming for dummies"? I've exhausted my resources.

    Thanks.
