  1. Dowzak did smear one guy into the boards right at the very beginning (first shift I believe). Hopefully we can lock him up soon so that he doesn't have to think about where he is going through his senior year next year. It would help to have a big strong dman so that no one tries anything with Duncan as far as cheap shots.

  2. Thanks for the update on Shattuck. I went to todays game and was impressed with the team as a whole but a few guys in particular. As far as having a nose for the puck and creating scoring chances, Okposo takes the cake. He seemed to be everywhere the puck went. Toews had a couple of goals I believe (one for sure) and looked quite good. Genoway looked solid. It's hard not to notice Dowzak with his size, but he looked very poised. It is hard to believe that Esposito is only 15. He looked great. Did anyone else go to the game? Any thoughts?

  3. On hockeysfuture.com there is an article titled Lighting It Up (I don't know how to link it). Anyways, it talks about who of young players are doing well in the AHL. Parise is mentioned as is Vanek, yet Bo is not even though he is leading the rookies in scoring. Potulny is mentioned as someone that hasn't lived up to the author's expectations.

  4. Yes Dowzak is on the Shattuck prep team but is originally from Fergus Falls. Volpei is on the U-16 team. Sounds like our kind of recruit (a little undersized but seemingly great ability).

  5. I would like to see Purpur get it being as he is the hometown boy. He also has good credentials (assistant ad at Stanford). I think the first order of business for the new ad should be to get Lennon signed to a long term extension. He definitely deserves one IMO.

  6. I just got home from the Finland versus Sweden game. One thing that was abundantly clear was that the ice is far too soft (the players have been complaining about it too) as I saw at least 3 people lose their edge on the exact same spot. There was water all over the ice that hadn't hardened. I know for a fact that the ice cooling system is awful and hope that the powers that be decide to replace the system in the next year or two. I realize that this would cost a good chunk of money but it seems that it would be good money spent as far as quality of hockey goes.
