One of the few games I thought rotations were good (second half) & players came to play. I understand why Sather puts Grant in but I don’t think he deserves to play at the D1 level.

These rotations are trash…

UND finally offered Klabo... I don't understand what took so long when both parents & older sister played at UND. Not holding my breath as I think if he gets a little taller he will be going to a P5 school.

I don't hate it but few tweeks i would make are the following: Brooks - rotate to Trent Eaglestaff - rotate to Norman Bj - rotate between Levias & Sueker Levias - rotate between Bj & Sueker Mathews - rotate to T I think to handle Kamateros a little differently put Mathews on him. Going to need Brooks / Trent to focus on Plitzuweit. Then Bj's length to give Bruns fits. Just my thoughts.

I do think the portal argument that Sather has been hurt by it needs to stop. If players truly enjoyed playing for him then they wouldn't necessarily leave, unless its a situation like Bruns (going back home), Scheierman (bettering his position), and Griesel (going home & bettering his position). Not to mention every single coach in the Summit League deals with it. Some of my biggest frustrations are the fact that he has not elevated his players. T looks like a complete shell of himself since the beginning of the year, Trent can't get the grades / discipline down to play, Norman looked like our best shooter and now doesn't play much? Sather's offense of game plan or X's / O's do not look great. We are half way through the year & he still hasn't figured out a rotation or a consistent starting lineup!! I don't blame the players for being frustrated or not being able to play on a high level when they don't know when or if they will play each game.

You don't have to say the name of the college but just curious what level D1, D2, D3, NAIA?

I've heard from sources that UND lost a TON of money having the women's hockey program which they are still trying to recover from. From the sounds of it might be out of the massive hole in a few more years which I would imagine trickling down to help spending on other programs i.e football and basketball.

Don't get me wrong with this, I like Sather as a person and have read many nice things about him. However, he did come from a program that was built to succeed already in Northern. Every college team is affected by the transfer portal so I think we need to stop holding his hand for that excuse. To me it's simple, look at what the women's team & volleyball team have done the last few years. Turning around programs in a short period of time and getting recruits to come in. This year's recruiting class has been great with Bj and Brooks, not giving credit for Eaglestaff since it was a shoe in for him to come here, but he struggles to keep players at the end of the year.... I think of the melt down of T since the beginning of the year, the lack of offense creativity, and continued turnovers. To me from what I've seen and heard from others Sather is the old mindset coach that players are going to come in and play his style of offense vs new style that you adopt your coaching style to the team you have. Idk who the next coach should be or what options MIGHT be available, but when your budget is tight you get what we pay for.

Sather just coached this team to a hard L. This team has potential and with a right coach would elevate this program back.
