  1. No, back when I was there, Sun Lakes was exploding and Sunbird was there, but Lone Tree wasn't there yet.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least 1-2 sacks on us. I think a lot will depend on who comes back after the Bye from the OL. Defensively we haven't been getting a ton of sacks but are doing pretty good with the pass rush and break-ups. I think we had 3 pass break-ups behind the line against SUU. Gilbert is a good town. My brother lives there now. I grew up in Chandler. Of course it was "Planet Chandler" back then and Gilbert was about one stop light...
  3. LOL, wondered if that's where you were going with that.
  4. Win Nah, really, just be ready for us to spread the ball around. Jeremiah Dobbins has been our #1 RB the last few weeks, but Anthony Smith may be back by Saturday. Either one of those can do damage. Heck, Banks and Davion Johnson will slide in there occasionally and send one off. Kobe Clark is our workhorse wide receiver, but you will see Golightly and others get their fair share of throws. I haven't noticed any mouthpiece tells yet We are used to getting blitzed, even with our young OL, so that won't catch us off guard. You'll get some penetration, but like I said earlier McIvor can run it as well and has been known to get a first down or two.
  5. You just need to watch our opening drive against SUU for what Mansell does on punts, although he was an all-state punter at one time besides a QB. He is the type of QB that will run right over you. So, just because he goes out there doesn't mean he will fake it. He will do a quick read first. Special teams used to be our strength. Lately it is really hit and miss...
  6. Anytime, definitely look forward to seeing some bodies flying around on both sides...
  7. We are still a work in progress. We had the coaching change and that has been for the better. Dorrel was legend in the DII world, but he never made the transition to DI very well. KP brought in a lot of transfers, especially FBS transfers. The downside to that was a lot of these didn't have recent field experience and they had to learn to gel quickly as a team. The team has come together very well though and even though we aren't scoring like we want, we are finding ways to win. We have a different attitude and a different outlook. Our primary QB, #2 Mansell, stepped aside to let the next generation step in and learn to run the RPO offense. It's not an easy offense to learn and our OL has struggled at times as they are young. McIvor though is beginning to step up and make better decisions. He can both run and pass. Mansell has now played anything from Safety to QB to punter, wherever he is needed. Coming off the Bye week, we should have a lot of players back, especially on the OL. Our defense has been the strongest this year than it has in years, but we will still have to work overtime with your slot receivers and screen passing. We have both a deep room of receivers and running backs to choose from. Expect the run first to try and open the pass. That is what we will probably try to establish. UND is still the team to beat in this game, but ACU hopefully won't make it easy. Both ACU and UND are fighting for a playoff spot, so both come in highly motivated. ACU has a very long history of football even though we have only been FCS DI for a few years. We were a founding member of the Southland Conference before we left and came back. The WAC has forced us to step up our game, but it is giving us opportunities to play teams like EKU and UND etc... to broaden our exposure.
  8. But it still got some good comments Why do you have that purple taking over the green on your little crown member icon? Is that a premonition of Saturday ??
  9. LOL, well it makes me feel good but will have to wait and see if it's a win for the Cats on Saturday or not. Hopefully it's a good game either way.
  10. It's a "W" "C" for wildcats...
