  1. Two big opponents this weekend. Denver and Omaha. Hoping we can pull out a win from them, if they play together and as a team the girls can do it. If they play separately no way Jose.

I believe they can keep this up. And I think they can beat SDSU (our only loss in conference so far) second time around. Really getting excited for the rest of season! Lady Hawks Fly!

It was only on the NDSU website. $7 to watch, with no commentary. Summit league needs to get their sh*t together and put all games in one platform. It’s ridiculous that if you want to watch all UND games, you have to pay and subscribe to all other teams platforms, some are free, some are not. I’d be willing to guess there would be a bunch of people willing to pay a yearly price to watch all Summit league games. Big Sky figured it out at had all conference games on peacock/whatever.

    also, horns down!

Every school seems to have a different service. 100% agree it all needs to be on one service for the whole conference. We need to do better!

  3. check the AWAY team’s website for streaming or their social media. They all have it put on something else trying to get you to buy their subscriptions and suck all your money for no reason. Loyal to MIDCO sports in my household. (that said I will drop a dime or two to watch UND sports)

I know zip about the sport, and have seen little of the games, but in what I did see digging seemed to be more of a comms problem (who's going for it) than a skills problem. That's not surprising in a new group.

Its falling between people or people not moving? Thought our defense is doing great. Slow start in the match doesn’t put us in a position to win. Coming back from an early lead is a difficult thing to do.

  5. Interested to see who the middles will be. The two older grad transfers should bring in experience but the freshman look like they have been doing well too. Freshman always need a couple games to get into the swing of college ball.

I wonder why they do not run a one-setter offense and have Norris set in the front row. They seem to have tried everything except that.

  6. And conference begins!

Western and St. Thomas this weekend. Wondering what the starting lineups will be. My guess is Norris, Carney, Olsen, Ward, and Gayle will all be starting. Sewell should make some appearances but the only stable position for setter seems to be Norris. She is having a good year both spiking and setting.

Looking forward to seeing who else is on the court and what the set line up will be now that conference is starting.

Hopefully we can pull out a win this weekend and get back to being a real force in the conference. I know I’ll be attending the next home game to see the lady Hawks in action at the Sioux Center.

Any other opinions or anyone seeing trends? Will be following along the stats.

I didn't see any of the matches, but from looking at the stats it looks like the starters are not completely set. I think all of the middles on the roster played at least one set, but I'm guessing they're getting close to knowing who will start on Thursday. The setters and libero had a different look for the weekend, Norris and Carney set and McCormick looked to be libero. No starting line-ups that I could find in the Box Scores, so I'm just guessing from the stats.

Stockman played in all sets in the matches the other middles switched around, Lundvisquist played in an entire match and did well. Olsen seems to have secured a spot she did really well from the stats. Wonder why Sewell wasn’t played this weekend

Well, you call a timeout to change the momentum - maybe ice the server - call a play - get your players focused -discuss what you anticipate your opponents will do - idk - what does a coach say at timeouts

    I just find it odd

of course it will take time

    of course I am impatient

    that all said

I believe we have hired the correct coach and they will turn this thing around

looking forward to UND volleyball being a thing again

I think every coach has their philosophy. Sometimes the girls are coming out making great moves and playing together the other half its like they are scared. After the last couple years it seemed like the team didn't play with much heart or love for the game. Maybe he is trying to let them find their groove without him getting on top of them and stressing them out more but maybe they need a bit more pressure.

  9. What are some of your favorite hole-in-the-walls, off the beaten path, things to do, places to eat, or information/fun facts about our amazing city GF?

(no actual personal secrets or gossip, just fun things about here!)

    Only? No.
One of? Definitely. As mentioned, there was open space and it is literally right outside their field. Makes a whole lot of sense to not let it go to waste and keep all the paperwork stuff in line as well.

Open locker room and close to the field. Title IX just prevents discrimination in athletics, its the reason that the women's track team is bigger than the mens they have to have the same amount of athletes in each gender. title IX doesn't give women a spot in the ralph

    Lost 2nd set to fordham

    25 - 20

    zero timeouts taken

I guess our coach said something about letting the players “figure it out”

I say I could coach as well if I just let our players figure it out

What would you have said to them? It was our sides mistakes but they will iron out through the season. I am holding out hope for this hire good credentials, and his wife played professionally so she is bound to know the game. Looking forward to watching our lady hawks this fall.

I would give it another year before the team really makes their turnaround, new coach needs to bring in his own recruits.

Yeah, wonder what the hold up is for both basketball teams in releasing their non-conference schedules?

might as well start looking at other schools schedules to see what its going to be
