  1. I would buy the package now (while you can get them face value) and sell the semi tickets. That way you have Championship tickets regardless and still have the opportunity to sell the semi-finals.

But that's just me. The person that bought tickets for Milwaukee knowing that I could only go to the Championship, selling the semis and refusing to send the Championship tickets with anyone fearing that it would be bad luck for the Sioux.....

    :(

  2. Can I just say this....

After a few rough years in my life and a hiatus from Sioux Hockey (not a complete hiatus...I've just been a little quiet) it feels absolutely AMAZING to finally be back!!!!

  3. Wow, isn't the important thing to get the call right? I don't care if it was only because it was noticed on the big screen. The referee's job is to be watching it in the first place. They blew the call and had the chance to get it right.

I guess the most important thing is that the blown call didn't cost the Sioux the game....thankfully!!! However, it wasn't the only blown call all weekend.

  4. If anyone is looking for tix, I recommend going to the Fan Forum on www.uscho.com. I've purchased tickets for three FF's off of their website now. My experience has been that the hockey fans selling on there just can't make it to that year's finals and want to keep their preference points for the next year. If that's the case they're not going to sell you tickets for more than face value, if they're caught scalping they run the risk of losing their pp's.

I'm just going to go with a hunch and say that there are probably several Hockey East fans that have tickets and won't make the trek to St. Paul.

Oh, and if the Gopher's don't make it, you know their fans won't be there.

  5. At least they can WIN IT when they're in it - they won 1 before 2001 with multiple chances - BC was just jinxed! Since then - they've won like 3 out of 4 NC games - most of those included beating UND. So what's their secret??? Hate them all you want but they own us AND the NCAA right now - but they still suck!:-)

    It ain't size. Speed kills.

  6. If we can't be the Fighting Sioux, HockeyMom thinks we should simply be known as North Dakota. No nickname, no logo. Eventually, we will offend someone no matter what we choose.

And right now, I just want someone to sit with me and have a beer, and we can cry together because doing it alone kinda sucks.

I just went through a pile of pictures and looked at the history of my kids growning up and how much Fighting Sioux athletics have been a part of their lives since day one.

Em was the Sioux Kids Club Caption of the Game the night that the 2000 team celebrated their ten year reunion and when we were sitting in the penalty box waiting for the starting line-up I remembered back to 2000 and how she was a few weeks old and asleep in her baby bouncer and then the Sioux scored and everyone watching the Championship game at our house jumped and screamed when we scored and she was startled, woke up and started to cry.

  7. Rather, it was because of a process whereby at least one person with strong UND hockey ties was encouraged to apply by the previous a.d., only to then be told by that same person that he/she wasn't qualified enough to warrant an on-campus interview. That was what caused most of the uproar IMO.

    Well, that was dumb.

  8. I really like what Idalski says when he's interviewed. Not satisfied with a top ten ranking, not expecting the team to be where it's at now.....he just seems grounded and realistic with his own, and the teams goals.

I think he was a great choice as a head coach, and it was interesting to hear people moan and groan when he was hired.....and it's been interesting following the season so far.

Hopefully the women make it through this tough stretch and can continue to remain strong the rest of the season.
