Hakstol's pre-game comments: At this time of year, I think it's easy to generate excitement. It's fun when we're playing in a rocking atmosphere, and I think we'll have some of that here. Need to pick up where we left off. Have to generate speed and offense. Things go well when you can do those two things. Princeton wants to do the same thing. It should be an up and down game. We have to take care of the middle of the rink, and get some pressure down on them. We've handled every type of forecheck this year, and today, we'll see as aggressive of a forecheck as we've seen. I expect them to come at us hard. It doesn't matter who you're playing. There are 16 good teams in this tournament, and last nights scores show that. Everyone is here to win. Healthwise, we're still not where we want to be, but for this time of the year, we're doing pretty good.

A WCHA matchup on Sconnie's home ice during the playoffs? I'm not surprised a bit on that line.

Glad the WCHA Player of the Year is standing tall. He was down on the ice pretty quick as that last shot sailed over his shoulder. State should be able to win this, turning on their trap defense in the 3rd period.

It is up to the ref though to call either a 2, 4 or 5 minute. I'm not sure if they take intent into play, or the severity of the hit. WTF? Just lost the Notre Dame/UNH game.

IMO, It should have been at least a 4 minute penalty. The guy got rocked pretty good. Where there was no intent on the CFB, it was a pretty dangerous hit.

What's lame about it? It's not as if he was going one way, stopped and tried to turn back the other way? He didn't have the puck on his stick and was trying to regain control of the puck. Wasn't intentional but it was a check from behind. Good call.

Medical Hardship Waiver If a student-athlete suffers a season-ending injury or illness after competing in a limited amount of competition during a particular academic year, he/she may qualify for a medical hardship waiver which would allow him/her an additional season of competition during the five-year period of eligibility. To qualify for a medical hardship: (a) the student-athlete's injury or illness must occur in one of the four seasons of intercollegiate competition or subsequent to the first day of classes in the student-athlete's senior year in high school; (b) the injury or illness must occur prior to the completion of the first half of the playing season that concludes with the NCAA championship in that sport and must result in incapacity to compete for the remainder of that playing season; and © the injury or illness must occur when the student-athlete has not participated in more than two contests/dates of competition or 20% of the institution's scheduled contests/dates of competition in his/her sport (whichever number is greater). Forney's played in 3 games this year, so he won't qualify for the medical hardship.
