Oshie takes a penalty, but Schremp is serving it for Oshie, who apparently was injured on the play. Let's hope Oshie gets back in the game real quick!

Hooking call on Davis for the US. Finland PP. Let's go PK!
-
Oshie making some moves again. Almost had a goal there!

Erik Johnson takes a penalty for the US to surrender the PP.

Holding penalty on the Fins, USA PP.

I believe I've heard that Hak has brought other players to Alaska as well, in case the 4 returning from the WJC are too tired to play. I could see them sitting one game if necessary, but I can't imagine them sitting out both games. In all reality, I think they'll all play in both games. They're hockey players, and they'll want to assist their team as much as possible. With that being said, I wouldn't mind seeing them sit out one game to get some rest. In the past, the WJC has taken a toll on players participating in it, as it should, it's a grueling tournament. I'd rather see the guys get well-deserved rest, and be stronger the next game, than to take up space on the bench when their bodies won't allow them to give 100%.

Yeah! Never heard of tape-delayed for us fans!

You can look back on all other threads, and you will find that I've never posted anything negative regarding Phil Kessel. I think he's played very well with the Gophers this year, and has contributed to their team, which is why I've never made any negative posts towards the guy. I don't know him personally, and no, he's never egged my house. I'm a hockey fan. I watch each individual player, and form an opinion. I share that opinion when I feel inclined to do so. I do not expect everyone to agree with my opinion, as that is what makes the human race so unique. However, I stick by my opinion that he has not performed up to expectations in this tournament. Currently, he is predicted to go #1 in the upcoming NHL draft. You look at the last two years #1 NHL draft choices, and they both performed well in this tournament. He's tried basically the same move on defenseman throughout this tournament, and has failed miserably, giving up scoring opportunities for Team USA. I am not looking at Kessel through green glasses, but rather, red, white, and blue glasses. He has not been the best player on the ice in the tournament, or even on his own team, yet analysts continually hyped him to be the "guy to watch" on this team. I've given each player on Team USA mutual respect throughout the majority of the tournament, to include Kessel and Paukovich, two players who don't sit well with Sioux fans. I've defended players such as Bobby Ryan when other posters stated they did not think he performed well. I don't hate Kessel. In all reality, I have a lot of respect for the guy. I simply stated that I believe he performed below expectations. Don't group Sioux fans together simply because we're Sioux fans. Get to know a person before you make any assumptions.

I think I recall them saying that's what would most likely happen. Thanks anyway PCM.

Personally, I like PCM2 or AZSIOUX2

Lack of chemistry has been a problem with this team. But you look at the 2004 gold medal team, and the majority of those guys had played together for 3 years for Team USA in U18 tournament and WJC. I questioned goaltending from the beginning, but I think Schneider did fairly well. My only complaint is that he goes down too quickly, Canada and Russia both knew that, and exploited it. The majority of this team will be eligible to return for next years WJC. If we find the right coach for that team (as I agree with you that Kyle was the wrong man for this job), we could finish in the top spot.

5 assists against Norway. As I said, take away the Norway game and the truth comes out. Rebound goals where he just happened to be the original shooter isn't him being generous. Move away fromt the stats page and watch the game.

I will be cheering for the Canadian's on Thursday evening, regardless of the behavior of the Vancouver fans throughout the tournament towards Team USA. I'd like to see Toews get the gold, and I just can't see me ever cheering for the Russians. However, I do think Canada will have their hands full. IMO, this Russia team is the "team to beat" in this tournament. They've got 3 solid lines, and play a very solid game. They move the puck great on the PP, and hope Canada realizes that they need to stay out of the box. As far as the US team goes, I think Kessel performed way under expectations in this tournament. That sounds funny, as he leads the team in scoring, but take away the Norway game, and the truth comes out. He's been one of the most selfish players I've seen, and has tried to do too much on his own. In all reality, that's been the problem with the majority of the Americans on this team. They failed to work as a team throughout the majority of this tournament. The chemistry has not been there. The US has been awful in 3rd periods throughout the tournament, and are lucky to be playing for a medal at all. I'm sure I appear to be biased when I say that Oshie and Gerbe have been the best two forwards in this tournament for the Americans. The statistics don't show it, but anyone whose followed this tournament has seen the impact these two players made in each game. 1 or 2 goals won't get it done against Finland, who will be hungry for redemption after the loss they had in the first game. In all reality, Finland probably should have won that game, or at least earned a tie. Good luck to Team Canada and as always, go USA!

Schneider going down WAY to early!
-
He kind of plays the body like Trevor Hammer did.
-
Penalty on Russia. US really putting on pressure.
-
Good strong effort for the US the last 2 minutes. Need to keep that up!
-
I thought the same thing, but than I recalled how the US are playing, and thought, I'll just keep quiet
-
Mueller takes a penalty for the US to end the PP.
-
Bourque exchanging words with the Russian player. Think Bourque speaks russian?
-
Californian's are in a world of their own.
-
End of the 1st. Russia leads, 1-0 after one. US needs to figure out how to keep the puck in the zone on a PP. Russia is clearing it left and right, relatively easy.
-
Both Sauer and Kyle thought that Canada would cheer for the US tonight? I guess I never questioned it. Maybe that's because I'm so used to the Canadian's cheering forever whichever team we're playing. Oshie draws another penalty.
-
US can't keep it in the zone for more than a few seconds.
