  1. Devils ran a special on Jordan Parise playing in Lowell. Jordan's comment on comparing him and Zach. 'You can't really compare the two of us. Yeah, we ended up in the same place, but we really took two different routes. He took the fast track to where he is today, while I took the scenic route.'
  2. Travis Zajac gets a PP goal in tonights Devils/Capitals game with the primary assist going to Parise. EDIT: ZPar adds a PP goal to go along with his assist.
  3. I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Festivus!
  4. Team USA wins their second exhibition game, 5-3 against Switzerland. No Sioux players involved in the scoring. Here's the link to the summary. USA/Switzerland Recap Article also says that most U.S. games will be aired on NHL Center Ice, however, I've checked the guide for Dish Network, and there is no indication at this time as to what channel the games will be on.
  5. Personally, I would rank Travis above some of the others on the list. No, I don't think he's even close to Malkin's category, and I don't think he's to Carle's level yet either, but this ranking is based on stats. It's no secret that Jersey is a largely defensive team (2nd lowest goals for in the east, yet they're the 5th best team), which has a direct result on Travis's ranking on this.
  6. Winnipeg is a lot larger (population wise) than Milwaukee, K.C., Boston, Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul. and many more homes for NHL teams. Don't think that's the problem.
  7. But what better way to make the sport of hockey grow in a city that doesn't follow it a lot, than to send a team with Crosby, Malkin, Staal, and Fleury? Pittsburgh is a team that is stacked for the future, and will more than likely win some cups. No better way to educate a new city on hockey than to send them a winning team. The city of Nashville loves the Predators. Why? Because they're winning. The Predators wouldn't be having near the success that they're having if they weren't a good team. Granted, I'm amused everytime I go to a Predators game and hear the lack of hockey knowledge the general fan has, but they're learning. I don't see Winnipeg being an option for the Penguins future. It's no secret that Canadian cities struggle to contend with teams in the U.S. Outside of Montreal and Toronto, the hockey hotbeds of Canada, no other city can compete with the larger U.S. city. Lemieux, though Canadian, knows this and will do what's best for his team. I don't know about KC or Houston. I do know that hockey is huge in Vegas.
  8. ZPar created both goals for Brylin in Sunday's game. Tonights goal was a rebound goal, but it was initially shot by Parise.
  9. Parise with an assist in tonights Devils/Thrashers game.
  10. If I remember correctly from last year, when it was played in Vancouver, NHL Center Ice still only broadcasted 3 games or so. Granted, that's 3 games more than what any other channel in the states was willing to broadcast, but I do wish they'd simply appease us hockey fans and have a couple channels designated solely for that tournament, or at least the big games that include the U.S., Canada, and Russia. I guess I'm just greedy and want to see all the games!
  11. Shouldn't post before the games over. Zach added a goal and Travis added an assist. Still 1:38 left in the game. Okay, it's over now.
  12. That was the scrap. Zach adds a goal to his 2 assists tonight. J.P. and Zach's girlfriend are watching tonight, so I guess he thought he'd better perform well. Zajac gets an assist on Zach's goal.
  13. Parise breaks his scoring slump with an assist in tonights Devils/Rangers game. And David Hale just gets in a little scrap with a Ranger. No real winner in the scrap. EDIT: ZPar adds another assist in the game. JPar had 34 saves in today's Lowell win as well.
  14. Hey! That dinky TV was probably better than our regular TV (I did not know you two drank ponies in there! Did my dad? ). Our regular TV had a chip in it, so whenever I watched hockey on it, I'd always lose the puck, thinking it was the puck! The '81 North Star cup run was what got me big into watching hockey....before that, I only played it.
  15. Hak post game comments: First goal was a little bit too easy. Third goal was easy as well. All comes back to our inability to put pucks in the net. Need to not get frustrated; keep working. It's not a matter of making a pretty play. Need to find a better way of getting shots through. On the PP, couple of times we did a good job at getting pucks to the net, other times we didn't. Need to have net front presence every time, and lost that as the game went along. Have to pick the right details and make changes. Can't overanalyze. Knew this was a very tough team to play against. Need to bury the puck and we didn't do that. I know it sounds like a broken record, but that's what we need to do. Can't put this one on our goaltender. Have to score some goals. Has to be better. Going to try to help Oshie work through the scoring drought. Not squeeze stick so tight, and whatever else.
  16. Amen.
  17. Amen.
  18. But they're all part of his goals!
  19. Porter wiffs on an open net. Story of the night/year.
  20. Nice to see the boys decided to play the last 2 minutes of the game.
  21. Icing on the Sioux. Have to bring Lammy back in.
  22. Miller scores!
  23. That's only 10 minutes away from me, however, I chose to listen/watch this game. What was I thinking???
  24. Pulling Lammy to score 3 quick ones!!!
  25. Hey, she sucks pretty....wait, that's not hockey!!!
