Some new events will enhance the in-game experience for fans attending games at Rice-Eccles Stadium in 2017, including the opportunity to purchase experiences and personal messages on the (north) auxiliary video boards, along with the addition of an in-house DJ. Experiences, which may be purchased by visiting UtahUtes.com/Experiences, include opportunities like leading the team onto the field or sitting in the ESPN 700 radio booth for a quarter. To have personal messages such as wishes for a happy birthday or anniversary displayed on the auxiliary boards, visit UtahUtes.com/SwoopWishes. A DJ from Salt Lake radio station U92 will play music during the pre-game team warm-ups. The DJ will be located in front of the MUSS section.
Cannon Call
The "Cannon Call" is coming to Rice-Eccles Stadium this season and will serve as notification to fans that they have less than 30 minutes to enter the stadium for the opening kickoff. The Utah ROTC will blast the Ute Thunder cannon when the Utes leave the field after pre-game warmups, announcing to fans that it is time to head for the entry gates.

Urban Meyer was the coach for 2003-2004, the first time we went undefeated and busted the BCS. It was all Kyle Whittingham and staff in 2008/2009 when we beat Alabama.

I have to disagree here I think UND will come out amped up and ready to play! My question is can they keep up the enthusiasm up, if they get down like 3 scores? I hope they play hard the full game, never give up. And that has nothing to do with being FCS or FBS... Oregon quit on the game, when we blew them out 2 years ago. Every team runs this peril...

This is a tough matchup for UND offensively, as Utah has a stout d-line (and does every year). The Utes have some new pieces on the offensive side of the ball that could cause a slow start, but they are a top 25 team in the FBS for a reason. I know that our expectations for our squad get heightened due to NDSU beating power 5 teams, which is really something...but that's not the norm. I hope we can play a clean game, keep it close, and STAY HEALTHY...anything more than that is gravy in my mind!
Leaving tomorrow night after work for SLC...and I can't wait for Thursday! I've always thought a night game at Rice-Eccles would be fun based on what I've seen on TV...hopefully it lives up to my expectations!
Still more of a late afternoon early evening game... Hopefully it will be dark enough for them to light up the U after the game.

In addition to generating revenue, I think its also great recruiting tool. There are kids that won't get a chance to play FBS level, but would love nothing more than to play against them for exposure on ESPN or another major network and not to mention competition aspect. If I were a Chattanooga player, being able to play LSU in Death Valley on a Saturday night would get me excited. True competitors would seize the moment to build life long memories and possibly turn some heads with NFL scouts sitting in the stands.

Navy has been successful with the Triple Option with Ken Niumatalolo. He has like a 77-42 record. Made it to 9 bowl games in 10 years with pretty good payouts.
Doubt they will go away from the Triple Option as it works for them.

I think any Power 5 team is going to bring you more revenue just due to the TV deals. Pac-12 network may not be easy to find in ND but its the TV money that is paying for most that payout.
