  1. I LOVE the Place - I smile every time I'm in there & think how Lucky we are to have such a Fabulous Arena. (Thank You Ralph) !!!

I have had good luck with seating (I was one of the last to get season tickets when it opened) - this yr we got 4 seats together (where before my daughter & son inlaw from Fargo were in one section & we were in another ) & we wanted to not be so high up, as my wife has bad knees (But there is not a bad seat in the house) - it took some persistence & contacting the right people, at the right times - But they came thru like Champs !!!

I wish Beer & Mikes were not so expensive & maybe had guys selling it in the isles like at the Excel ?- (I never go in the bars) so that does not effect me. Like the Food / Concessions so much better than the old Ralph.

What a Fabulous place - Makes Winters bearable up here

  2. I am very excited about this season. The new era begins under DH. The sioux do not rebuild they reload and this will continue under DH. We have the top recruiting class coming in meaning every player has the chance to be a impact player sometime in the very near future. Not a huge class but a very quality class. MAFIAMAN is right, don't dwell on last year , look forward to this season. I was there in CC and could not believe it myself but oh well!!! after a couple of months of bumming its time to look at the deep 04/05 team and hope they can win the WCHA and proceed into the NCAA'S..................................

  3. AZSIOUX, what was the Website that you ordered that book from? Are there any stories about the famous "waterbottle" incident in Wisco? I just returned from attending an adult hockey camp in Las Vegas where John Marks was one of the coaches. He told me that was one of the greatest brawls he's seen in all of hockey!

John Newberry picked the wrong guy to mess with when he squirted Eades!!! :p

Call The Ralph Engelstad Arena pro shop. 1-877-917-4689. you can just order with credit card over the phone and it took me 3 days to get the book in arizona....

  4. Just wanted to let everyone know that the new book is great. articles, pictures are sweet. the history to gain from this book is unbelievable when it comes to the early early days of sioux hockey.just got the book in the mail here in az and went over it last night. ordered from the ralph pro shop. we all should have this book at some point. a must for us sioux fans!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry if this was already brought up in a thread but i was really impressed with the whole book. 1 month until the new era begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. BOCHENSKI IS LEAVING :D THIS IS AWFUL :p

WOW!!!!!!!! LATE BREAKING NEWS HERE.........HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GET THIS INFORMATION?:p???I MUST HAVE MISSED THE LAST 30 DAYS OF BO TALK ON THIS THREAD :0;);)

  6. i live in az but when i go to the ralph one of the best deals ever at a sporting event is the 5.50 32 OZ BEER there!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can't beat it....anywhere else your looking at 10.00 for a bomber..go sioux!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. let jake , jpar and lammy battle it out for # 1 goalie. jake and jpar are proven. lammy is our future so to speak if he steps up. jake has done nothing but win at UND and he should get a fair crack at this year with jpar. ziggy may still push for a spot. we all know that it will be fun to watch it play out without blais's musical goalies or it may be the same as before. i guess we will see.. not to worried because we do have proven winners at goalie...

  8. 1. SIOUX

    2. DULUTH

    3. GOPHERS

    4. BADGERS

    5. DENVER

the sioux have most returning and maybe best incoming while the gophers are not to bad themselves with incoming talent. this may be too early but its fun though. my gut is that the sioux and gophers will distant themselves this year and be there in the end but i went with the dogs for now because of sandy.......

  9. this topic was discussed here in arizona yesterday on one of the major stations in the valley. they were making the point that nhl hockey is about 6-8 now in sporting events when it comes to ratings and popularity of going to the events. NASCAR, GOLF, ARENA FOOTBALL draw better ratings. is this my opinion, NO but they make great points about this. we can all argue that these are not even sports in some people's eyes but the low ratings tell the story and the nhl commish just had to scramble with NBC to get a weak tv offer to keep just a few games on tv in the future. he is ruining hockey.. hockey is a terrible tv sport and thats coming form a die hard sioux fan, also its such a regional sport and thats tough on many areas in the states. its boring to watch these days in the nhl and for a newcomer to try to learn the sport watching tv is very hard for them..i believe its losing its MAJOR 4 status and thats just the honest truth. wish is wasn't but thats the way its going today..there needs to be some changes to make the sport more fun to watch in the nhl...no red line, smaller goalie pads or bigger nets, bigger ice sheet??? i don't know but they need to do something. PCM is right!! just heard also that bowling has a better tv rating than hockey. the nhl signed a revenue sharing contract with nbc which is a joke and its the same deal the arena football has with nbc. they are in a world of hurt!!!!

  10. $789 each sounded pricey, so I did a quick comparison shop at Oribtz and Travelocity because I was curious.

If a group were to split it four ways, they could fly Thursday and SUNDAY ($536), stay THREE nights in a room at the same Holiday Inn and get a Taurus rental for a total of $632 each. This is more than I expected, but Flytheralph wants $789. That leaves the group with $157 each to buy game tickets, a lobster bake, and a souvenir windjacket.

If they're going to charter a flight and shoot for group-type discounts (renting a bus has to be cheaper than each of us renting a car), they need to make the price competitive.

i don't think they are comparing prices with travel companies. this is a once in a lifetime thing that you get to fly with the team and so forth. anyone can go on there own trip but some people will want to take advantage of this sioux package as well. its the purpose of the trip in my mind, not the 150 dollar difference...no matter how you get there we will all party and have a great time watching the sioux play in maine, its just the question of how you want to get there!!

  11. 800 $ is fine. not saying its not a lot of money but to fly with the team. hotel and game tix. tours around maine area. maine lobster dinner yeah you could get there cheaper but its the point of hanging with the team and doing something different that does not pop up many times to do in a lifetime if you are a big fan like we all are. this is how i see it i guess.

  12. come on people. look at the arena. big deal if they want to charge 3.00 to look around. it was free for a while and that was nice but oh well!! i do understand coming from a student perspective as i just graduated but i don't think its that big of a deal. maybe it should be included in a students tour of campus!!!5.50 for a beer 32 oz is a great price also. best deal i have run into for beer at a game. usually 5.00 gets you a 16 oz.. and a 32 oz is 8.00 easy. i'm sure this won't turn people away from touring the arena. i guess you can tell its not october when this is a interesting topic on the board..keep the months rolling through the summer!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. O' Keefe seems to be extremely arrogant and the picture didn't surprise me. Maybe I'm reading into it too much...

tim o'keefe is not a arrogant person at all. one of the most interesting personalities to sit down with and talk UND or anything actually. i would not look to far into the alumni pics to determine how he is as a person. not lashing at you at all about this because we all are allowed to have our own opinions but just giving you some info... go sioux!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. He is not a traitor period. Grant Potulny really seems to bring out the worst in sioux fans. If he played for the gophers and didnt do anything you wouldn't care, but he was a significant contributor so you label him a traitor. Many of your players are from minnesota. They chose to go to UND. I don't hate them for it. The U of M and UND are as good as it gets for college hockey programs. I wouldn't want it any other way. It is the best rivalry in sports as far as I am concerned.

damn right!!!!!!! best to grant in the ahl.......

  15. I don't think Brandt has gained Blais full confidence, even after 3 years in the program. I really hope next year we have an established go to guy in the pipes for the post-season. It has to be a distraction when the players do not know who is going to be in goal. We have not had post-season success since Karl left and a big issue in my opinion has been musical goalies.

I like both goalies that we have. they are 2 different guys on and off the ice but both play well when they are in there. i would not blame post season on the goalies at all. theres no way thats accurate when you look at the numbers the last couple of years. i see where you are coming from though because thats what everyone seems to look at when we lose, the goalie!! i was at the game in c springs. if you can't put the puck in the net, its hard to win.. jordan should have been able to let 2 or 3 in and we still sould have been ok but it was not our night when it came to the puck bouncing.. jake is up and down with blais. he is a hell of a goalie. he scares people with his style but he wins a lot of games. Jordan will continue to get better with time and the off season. i'm sure he gets quality work in wherever he goes in the summer. the talented freshmen goalie phillip?? coming in will push both of these guys.

  16. I guess we just have to wait and see what happens.. I he does not play in the playoffs which is what it sounds like and there is a lockout then this really sucks bad from a die hard sioux fans perspective.. seems like its all for nothing except the money of course, nothing wrong with that. seems like a strange way that new jersey went at this if he isn't playing. best to zach in whatever he ends up doing this season... win the hobey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can't wait until oct............
