really, i thoiught finley had 3 big time hits early on in that game. i think joe is just fine malone was great on face offs as well. maybe this sophmore class with him, frattin and trupp really come into their own. would be great to see along with a few impact freshman
-
i agree. just look at the names that have came through UND throught the years. these 2 are going to be damn good
-
he played a handfull of games, huge difference between a whole season like blood did after shattuck. both will end up being big time D men for the sioux but one will also be sitting nightly as long as the other 5 d men stay healthy.im guessing friday fiehnage will and then saturday who knows.
-
that was BC, im hoping BU has technoology i their barn. BC was a joke last year.
-
this thread may help you out http://forum.siouxsports.com/index.php?showtopic=11220

fienhage is straight from highschool, blood has a year of ushl under his belt. blood is probably more advanced right now but its going to be fun to watch both of these guys develop. both are very big with a lot of skill. from brads blog it seemes toews will be playing this weekend as he practiced the last week but they just didnt play him to be safe. gregoire and toews will both be impact freshman which we need on this team. im guessing both goalies will play a game out east as well. will be a nice road game test at BU on friday. one more note was malone and zajac were great on face offs vs manitoba.

AZSIOUX replied to AZSIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
kristo and omaha opened their season with a loss to fargo. kristo had 6 shots in the loss friday, kristo and omaha lost saturday as well. cichy with 1 goal and 1 assist in tri-city win friday over lincoln, also 1 goal saturday in 8-2 loss BRUNETEAU with a assist and gleason with 1 goal in 8-2 saturday win for des moines mike fink did play in waterloos 3-2 loss saturday ............... macwilliam and camrose are 2-9. seem to be pretty bad after having a great season last year. ................. -
i say they each play a game and then go from there on real game performance. i dont think we will know if the sioux have goaltending issues until they play a handful of games. unproven goalies? yes without a doubt but we will see who steps up.

the nhl regular season started for 4 teams playing overseas against eachother. brian lee and ottawa went 1-1 vs the penguins. lee seems to be on the last D pairing and played both games with a little time on the PP both games

The Sioux head out to Boston to open up their regular season in 08-09. Nice way to see what you have vs a couple Hockey East teams. Friday night vs BU and Saturday night vs Umass. This will be the first regular season game for all 3 of these teams. The Sioux come off a 6-2 warm up game vs Manitoba. BU had a 4-1 win vs New Brunswick in their first tune up game for the season while Umass beat New Brunswick 6-0 in their exh game. Michigan State is th3 4th team featured in this opening weekend. Sioux sweep 4-2 and 5-2. - last season = 28-11-4 University of North Dakota Location: Grand Forks, N.D. BRADS media day notes http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/ --Hakstol said that competition is extremely tight right now. In most years, there are usually a couple of players who are lagging behind the rest of the group a month into preseason skates. This season, there aren't. In fact, he said everybody is going to play the first two weekends (Manitoba and the Icebreaker) because competition is so tight. They are waiting to see if guys can establish themselves. media day videos - funny stuff
