From Hammersmith on BV
I picked the nearest DI schools to get a comparison. I took the student fee data from the annual USA Today report and divided it by the FTE enrollments of the universities(data from each schools' website). I think that's the most accurate way of figuring out how much the average student pays since most fees are based on credit hours.
$252.40 - UND
$248.09 - SDSU
$208.20 - USD
$169.67 - UNI
$103.03 - UNO
$88.57 - NDSUInteresting dont you think.
Interesting that you continually miss, or ignore, the point.

I think that people tend to make a lot of snap judgments when it comes to this issue. I know their are a lot of people who look at this as getting a scholarship and stipend to "play" a sport like in high school. I don't think that they realize the level of work that D1 and D2 athletes have to put in on top of school, because most athletes do have to make the grades or loose eligibility and the school isn't going to rig there grades to keep them in. I knew a girl who went to Minnesota State University, Mankato on a full ride volleyball scholarship, she played for three years and then quit her senior year because she found out that she could work near full time and actually pay for school and have more time to study. Of course it was a hard decision but it was the best choice for her at that point. When you take into accounts individual workouts, chalk talk, practices, most of these athletes are working a full time job and carrying a full course load.
I don't think anyone here thinks the student athletes don't deserve it. The issue is the SU athletic department dodging questions about the increase in fees so that they may "be more competitive with comparable universities...."

Article below for reference.
I bet the students are stoked about that sports bubble incentive.

They made the playoffs last year with that terrible receiving corp! Admit it you were wrong
Winning doesn't mean you have great players at every position. Just look at Carolina's stats from yesterday. Rushing TDs and Olsen(TE) taking care of the receiving.

Wow we are starting to sound more like Mavs fans who care more about what other teams are doing than our own. But seriously I think a split is coming this weekend with one maybe even two OT games.
I'm with you. Close loss or OT Friday, 2 goal win Saturday.

The question was could we be competitive. Hire a great coach and get good players. . Of course it would take sometime---But---Why couldnt they?
The rest of your post has nothing to do with the question.
My guess is the moment SU gets a hockey team, they will close the REA, all coaches and players will transfer down south, and all the fans will swear their immediate allegiance to the Bison.

I live in Fargo.........and I approve your message!
Thanks. The downside is Sonic was extremely shorthanded so it took a bit to get a cheeseburger. Fair trade off all things considered.

The greatest benefit to the State was having all of you in Texas for a few days. Fargo was so much more enjoyable.

I don't think it's a hockey basher, just questioning the moral compass of a person(s). To be 100% truthful.....I have a NDSU Club Hockey T-shirt that I wear sometimes. (sounds pretty stupid, huh?) I seriously have one, just for the irony of being a UND Football Fan.
Wasn't hockey bashing at all. At least now I know to spell everything out more clearly.

Oh good.....another hockey basher.
No, I love hockey, dislike the NDSU football and UND hockey fan combo. Is that really how you interpreted that?

I know, it is so pathetic!! The UND grads wearing SU stuff in Frisco......cutting the tags off their Bison gear on the drive down, that is a deal breaker for me, I don't associate with turncoats. The Concordia folks make me sick, too, I try to avoid them at all costs. (The die hard Concordia grad Bison band wagoners)
Sadly, they will all come racing back to be "fans" of hockey.

Huge loss for the team, but I hope everything in his life is ok and wish him well. I'm sure the staff did their best to keep him around...Still very excited for next season.

Don't play dumb. The point is the fans of "successful" teams will get bad reputations.
Are you going to read about UND fans punching holes in the cities or are you going to read about Alabama Huntsville?
It's not an act. Just thought the parallel was slightly extreme.

Glad you spent the time to make an account for this contribution. It was definitely worth your time. BTW love the name, you can call me the dude, or el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
Man, I'm new to the message board. Hopefully I can hassle you for many years to come.

What is your point? NDSU has idiots, plenty of them. So do other fan bases, not exactly a revelation.
The difference is, you see NDSU fans acting out on the news because it sells papers and gets clicks because people know the NDSU name now.
I was at highschool game a few years back where a guy was literally beaten by a group of fans from the other team. No news story. Why?
I would definitely put NDSU's name recognition alongside the Patriots and the Yankees. hahahaha!
