  1. Just look for white smoke in Vegas.
  2. Okay, no one say anything else...... https://www.denverpost.com/2019/04/13/university-colorado-regents-defend-mark-kennedy/
  3. Obviously, we can't control that. And maybe not. The word I got was that the high-fallotin professors didn't like the fact that he didn't have a phD, and spoke negatively about him based solely on that. But, if he does, that really speaks volumes about his character. It would prove he thinks of UND as the big deal UND deserves to be with its next president. It would show he doesn't put himself or his ego above the university. I think those qualities alone would be quite welcome right about now.
  4. Allow me to temper that last comment a bit. Another candidate with a similar background and experience may emerge. If so, all the better for UND. If all else is equal, however, Shirley's track record and knowledge of the system should be a sizable x-factor. Yes, two more years at Minot can make a difference. That means two more years of observation, another legislative session, etc. When I hear people describe Clifford, I hear them describing Shirley. I really do. Obviously, I'm a fan, take it for what it's worth. But UND needs someone that will shut off the negative press. He will be a start. There wouldn't be a president pissing off McGarry and constantly interviewing for jobs in "better" places. I'd bet he'd finish his career here.
  5. Very familiar with Shirley. He's everything Kennedy isn't, approachable, involved, personable. At VCSU, he successfully wove the university into the community. There was always the mentality that the university was this "other thing" in town. And it was deep. He changed that. He brought donors in. They restarted a closed track and field program. Brought turf to the football field before any other school outside of the bigs in the state. The school glowingly passed its audits with the legislature, when other schools were failing those same audits. He secured funding for a new science building. They augmented their masters program in tech ed, and the enrollment grew, and set records, semester after semester. If they pass on that track record in a North Dakota native that gets the system inside and out, especially after going the complete opposite direction into a disaster, they are foolish.
  6. Afyer he dropped the race card with his rempte chief of staff, I believe The Ralph should now offer a burger called the Mark Kennedy. You order the burger 2 minutes later you try to get tickets to a Lightening game. When you find out the tickets are sold out, you piss off the chef, and she refuses to cook your burger. You then take a big dump on the floor and leave.
  7. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/13/sports/hockey/minnesota-gophers-st-cloud-state.html New York Times piece today. It outlines the emergence of other programs besides the traditional bigs. Question: this article targeted the Gophers, but does this also affect UND? The article makes casual mention to Michigan, Wisconsin, and the Beanpot Bigs. If it does, then is what we're seeing this year in Grand Forks a "new normal"?
  8. And BTW, i know it's not Jon out there tonight, but, he did play for SCSU, right?
  9. Serious question: Jacob Benson is from GF. Jon Lizotte played for Red River. Evan Bushy, think i heard that name, from Warroad right? Did UND miss on these guys?
