Siouxdonyms
Schweitzer disappeared in 97-98, though, didn't he? The injury bug hit him hard in 97-98 (groin injury), which led to Goehring having the opportunity to play. Kollar was also there that year, but they weren't going to play him, as they wanted to preserve his redshirt status. When Schweitzer finally became healthy, I think Karl had solidified himself in the goaltender position, and Schweitzer chose to leave following the season. redwing77
I'm not sure Jordan Parise should be faulted if the Sioux should fail to win an NC in his time as a Sioux. This is a team sport and no matter how well Jordan plays, if they don't win, they can't get the trophy. There are players out there who barely if ever won it all. Ray Bourque won his Stanley Cup in his final season but he had to leave Boston to do it. The best example isn't in hockey, however. Dan Marino is considered one of the best NFL QBs of all time yet he never won a Super Bowl. How does this truly diminish Marino's calibre? I say rejoice that we got a goaltender that turned out to be one helluva better goaltender than I think anyone figured he'd be when he was recruited out of Waterloo (USHL). That's the one thing I'll be grateful to JPar for when he leaves UND: Closing the door on the goaltender issue. I'm just happy I got to see him play. Just like I was happy to see Karl Goehring play. siouxnami
I really think that it was worth carrying Zach's baggage for a couple of years to get Jordan.
