bincitysioux Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 I was just wondering as a sports fan in general where you would like to see a game, whether it be football, hockey, baseball, basketball, golf, horseracing, bullfighting, or whatever, be played. Whether it be a city, a stadium, a favorite team, favorite sport, bowl game, or championship game. Personally, I would like to go to Yankee Stadium, walk around Monument Park, and sit in the right field stands where Roger Maris hit No. 61 and watch the Yankees play the Red Sox. Second, I'd like to see a Packers-Bears game at Lambeau Field in December. I'm kind of a history buff, and as nice as the REA, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, or the Ballpark at Arlington may be, I would rather explore the Ivy of Wrigley Field, or walk around the floor of the Boston Garden (before they imploded it ). soohockey15 Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 (edited) I personally went to a trip to the Mecca, aka. Fenway Park. We arrived there for a 1:00 afternoon game at 9:00 in the morning. It is a football atmosphere, with people tailgaitng and grilling and waiting outside and whatnot. I went in 2 hours early and was able to watch batting practice from the top of the Green Monster. After batting practice, I took a self-guided tour around the stadium. I went and sat down by Pesky's Pole and there were some very nice Spanish or Mexican gentelmen sitting next to me. They must have had tickets to the game, because Pedro Martinez came up and stood next to me and was talkingiwith them. I must say that Pedro seems like a great guy, no ego at all. The atmosphere at Fenway was one that I have never experienced before, and one that I am not likely to experience again. If it was up to me, however, I would still be playing games at the old Engelstad, Memorial Stadium, and Hyslop. I grew up going to games in all those great arenas and stadiums and I have never been to a better atmosphere when cheering on Sioux sports. Edited December 11, 2005 by soohockey15 Quote
