ndrunner Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago A little history - In 1983 when Wisconsin won the national championship, what was then not called the Frozen Four in Grand Forks, A student from Harvard (one of the 4 teams) who would become well known (head of CNN was one of his jobs), Jeffrey Zucker, wrote the following https://www.thecrimson.com/article/1983/3/25/the-biggest-show-in-town-pmany/ Wisconsin stayed at the Westward Ho on Gateway … A grand party it was. UND fans celebrated not that Wisconsin won, but that Minnesota lost in the semis. 1 2 Quote
SJHovey Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Not only did Minnesota lose in the semi’s, they lost the 3rd place game to Providence (back when they still played it). During the championship game, Wisconsin fans carried a bedsheet around the walkway that read, “Hail Mary, full of grace, Minnesota’s in 4th place.” My first Frozen Four. 1 Quote
