radionews
I thought I would wait until spring to get the dish that can be used to pick up FSSN but with the Victory Sports mish-mash and Directv not picking it up this weekend....can the dish that gets FSSN pick up feeds of the Sioux this weekend. I saw the Joe Sensor's satellite guy had the coordinates listed........I know nothing about how this works, I just want my Sioux!!!!
iceberg
easy (and not the one you want to hear) answer.....no long answer...There are 3 types of satellite C-band...the old style that had the 7-10 foot dish in the back yard KU Band.newer style of above...uses a dish 30" or larger DBS..Dish Network or DirectTv Within C & KU band, there is analog & digital Analog signals can be picked up with any old style C/KU band receiver Digital needs a newer style of receiver (also called a DVB receiver). Some receivers you have to program in everything to pick it up, some do not (like the Satworks receiver). One type will not pick up the other signal (analog wont get digital signals and vise versa) FSSN is on digital What coordinates are being listed are the "Feeds"..the live uncut (and sometimes uncensored) feed that ESPN is sending out to the stations that are showing it. They insert their own commercials, whereas the live feed we usually get to see camerapeople zoom in on good looking women during the commercial breaks. Unfortunatelly, these particualr feeds are on C-Band Analog, so unless you have an old C-Band receiver and a 7-10 foot dish or Dish Network (as they are going to show the games involving UW,UM, UMD, and UND) you will have to find a bar that has it. It sucks because I have a C/KU analog receiver, but only a 30" dish for KU. So I cant get it either. Hopefully Dish does carry it like they said they are going to.
radionews
Thanks iceberg, you are right, that wasn't the answer I was looking for..... I see the Directv isn't picking up Victory for free this weekend, I might just have to hurry up and switch to Dish Network.....
iceberg
Unfortunatelly, DirectTv isnt carrying it. they said they have a substantial amount of games on the other RSN's....however, neither West semi is on...just the east or NE ones. Hopefully Dish carries it. I know they said they would, but never can be too sure.
