sioux_hockey
The Sioux are going to have one of their best teams in history next year! The Sioux don't lose any starters! Returing is Lolar, Beasley, Porter, Walker, Brandt and more! They will be fun to watch! Beasley is getting looked at by pro scouts!
TheSiouxFan
I agree. The Sioux next year should really be something to watch. I believe they will probably win the NCC and possible come close to winning a championship. After all it is their turn (hockey, football, womens basketball). The team was really starting to come together late in the season. I believe Beasley will have a good chance at the Pros, but playing in a lower level of competition (d2) might hurt him a little. He'd probably be at a D1 school right now, but, I believe, for D1 you have to graduate from the junior college, which he didn't. from http://espn.go.com/recruiting/s/2000/0811/679496.html Jerome Beasley (Midland JC, Texas) 6-9, 225, sophomore A good high school player (Moreno Valley HS/Moreno Valley, Calif.) who has matured and emerged in junior college, Beasley had an impressive Mullen camp. Jerry Mullen: "He's strong, rebounds well ... runs the floor ... has the ability to score from inside and outside ... nice touch around the basket." sioux_hockey
How does the upcoming recruiting class look?
TheSiouxFan
Sioux land another highly touted Junior College Transfer. He'd probably be playing D1 as the article states but he didn't complete his degree. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/sports/3119415.htm
diggerdan
Looks like Allen is a quality recruit. The Sioux will have 4 (at least) JUCO transfers in their rotation next year. Hopefully this doesn't backfire for Glas. Alot of schools have had trouble blending JUCOs into their program while others do with a great deal of success. teamsioux
Anybody hear anything new about the men or womens teams over the summer? I know most of the players for both stayed in GF to work out for the summer and Allen will arrive in town in a few weeks I also heard. choyt3
Anyone know if Lolar found his way back to GF? I heard last spring that he had gone to visit friends over a long weekend and never came back. Any idea if he surfaced anywhere? I seriously doubt he'll be back with the Sioux.
teamsioux
No, Lolar will not be back. From what I hear he was in trouble academically.
dickgraham
Has anyone seen the schedule for this coming year? I have not found it on any of the Sioux sports sites. The rest of the conference and the Sioux football and hockey schedules have been out for quite a while. I was wondering how many games and what teams the Sioux playing in The Ralph this year. teamsioux
All I have heard is the Bison games are at the Ralph. I also believe that most of the others are non-conference games.
