star2city Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Dagny Knutson sets more High School records - at Hyslop Pool She's setting these records without the benefit of the high tech swimming suits: Knutson shattered one national high school record and edged another she previously held during the preliminaries of the 2009 Girls State Swimming and Diving Meet Friday. She started the day by breaking the national record time in the 200 individual medley. Her time of 1:53.82 was nearly four seconds faster than Westlake Texas' Mary Beck's record time of 1:57.41 set in 2007. .... Knutson set another national record when she bested her previous mark in the 100 freestyle at the Hyslop Pool at the University of North Dakota. Her time of 48.15 seconds edged her previous best of 48.33. Her performance in the 100 free was the fifth time Knutson broke a national record in the past two state meets. ... Knutson, who will continue her swimming career at Auburn University, said the solid start was important to herself and her teammates. ... Auburn was one of two colleges, along with the University of California, that Knutson visited. She only checked out two because she didn't want to take away from training for the state meet. She also felt that Auburn was a good fit. Quote
