  1. Coach will probably go to Blais or Sandelin, just because they like to give it to teams that struggled the year prior. Zane and Mark each have a shot, but I've gotta think Laleggia will beat out Schmaltz for offensive d-man.

So they misspelled the coach of the year then right? It's spelled Blasi, going from #8 to #2.

  2. I know UND fans just look at this as an excuse, but this is at least partly why the Gophers sucked in 3rd place games at the Final Five. That's a tough turnaround for any team. I can't believe anyone still thinks 3rd place games are a good idea. BTW, if you guys could please beat SCSU and then make sure Miami/DU does the same on Saturday that would be appreciated.

I don't want cloud to win until they beat Denver in the early game Saturday.

  3. There will be plenty of fans for the UND/SCSU game and maybe Miami/Denver will benefit from some of those fans staying. I know I'll stay to watch it as it should be a good game. As far as Denver and Miami fans, hopefully they can crack the 100 fan mark once you combine the two fanbases.

Just saying the same thing Starman avatar just did. I know Miami won't have but a few there, but anyone in attendance would be crazy not to want to catch both games. I get off at 6:00am est here, is that enough time to make the early game? :)

  4. Makes sense from a competitive standpoint (giving the highest seed the biggest advantage), but still a highly surprising decision. The late game will have a lot of empty seats, which is not a good way to showcase your prime time, nationally televised match up. This will also hurt ticket sales, as fewer UND and St. Cloud fans that live in or near the Twin Cities will take time off work to go to an afternoon game than those that would have gone to a night game.

Not expecting many hockey fans to show up for either game huh?

  5. St. Cloud just shot up to 11th in the pairwise.

NCHC teams currently hold 1,3,6,7,8,11 in pairwise

Miami postgame said lowest we can fall is 8 even with a loss tomorrow, nice to see the teams spread through the bands so we can try to avoid conference matchups.

How many was the most you guys had in the old wcha, 5?

  6. And resting up for the NCAA's...Miami might be doing the same after tomorrow's game.

Yeah tonight was bad, lots of turnovers, and soft ice. Puck was bouncing all over the place. Was hoping for a refund on the Sunday tix but now it'll give me something to do other than sit glued to the basketball selection show.

  7. Convenient that you start off with last night's playoff loss at home to St Cloud and end with the Saturday night home loss to North Dakota, skipping out on the Friday win vs North Dakota...add in the Friday win against NoDak and it's 3-5-3. Not impressive, to be sure, but the only real disappointment there was a sweep at St Cloud.

1-0-1 at home against doormat CC.

    0-0-2 at highly ranked Duluth.

    0-2 at St Cloud

    1-1 at Western Michigan

    1-1 against North Dakota

Didn't pick those series leaving off certain games in particular, just went last 10. Nearly a third of the season on a pretty bad run thus far.
