Not saying it had anything to do with the season as i believe the injuries this season were a big reason for the loses as well as the lack of play calling but the players not geting rings for last years conference championship left a sour taste in there mouths. That goes for all the players. Its bull---- that the school didnt find a way to pay, raise money or allow the players to buy the Rings. Just saying.
This is exactly where the wheels started to come off the bus last season. Back in January

I hear the players have lost respect of some of the coaching tactics as well. Suspensions being prematurely imposed before facts , scholarships being cut by 25-50% for a late attendance to practice/Therapy/meeting etc. punishment that does not fitting the crime. Coaches getting raises last year and no rings for the players. Equipment issued to Hockey/Basketball /Volleyball including Winter coats that FB does not receive. More than a handful of integral players exploring Transfers as the result of lake of respect for the players. Arguments are heard coming from coaches offices. Many feeling the coaches have lost a personal connection with the team, it does not always bode well to get constant criticism and never any positives. The locker room sounds to be in disarray. Hopefully this off season will result in some positive changes before the spring camp starts. UND proud.
I have heard this also. It’s hard to play for a coach you don’t respect and doesn’t have your back

Our out of bounds was the barb wire fence. You'd rather take the hit than run out of bounds, right OLD SCHOOL?!
Yup.....end zone was gravel driveway. Made ya think about diving for a catch

Nice article. I was wondering how this class stacks up to the ones Bubba has brought in. To bad Kuska didn't get to finish his career. He and Cole would have been hell to play against

I don't see it being that bad. There are nearly 80 members of the team, there are bound to be a couple non conformers out o that amount.
It's not the players I'm talking about. It's the reaction of some of the posters

If I was a parent I wouldn't encourage my son or daughter to attend a school based on a message board where people post using fake names.
Ya.... I get your point. None the less it's a reflection on the fan base

If I was a parent of a potential recruit there's no way in hell I encourage my boy to even thing of attending this school after reading some of the sh@t that I've read hear

Sounds like you can add Taubenheim to the list too

Well..... damned if I know. I just see the boys are gassed from covering punts and kickoffs. I would think it would keep the fresh. Not a great football mind here. Just a thought

To late to change the defense. Work with what we've got. Tweek we know our linebackers are undersized. Can't ask them to play 65 snaps a game taking on 300 pound lineman and be on special teams. Maybe replace the starting linebackers on special teams. it's a start

Thanks. I was never sure what happened.

I think we are both on the same page here and saying the same thing, if a guy muffs a punt, misses a kick, or a ball gets kicked out of bounds I don't think you can necessarily blame it on the coach which is what I was saying. However if muffing punts and kicking out of bounds becomes repetitive, then that is a problem and you can start looking at the coach.
Yup....exactly

Taubs didn't have his best year last year, but we've been fortunate to have some really really good kickers and have been pretty spoiled. I've seen plenty SEC kickers shank 37 yard field goals. Taubs looks stronger and better this year, I'm looking for a good year from him. Even in a good year you are going to miss some. Thank god he made all of them against Utah to keep things reasonable. There are many college teams that would love to have him as their kicker.
I do agree with you but how can the coaches be blamed when the players are the one making the mistakes.

I was pretty hard on Kostich last year as I think getting two punts blocked at crucial times, and not having his guys lay off the rush when we got the penalty were more coaching type mistakes or not having the guys ready. But if a guy muffs a punt or something like that, I can't blame that on the coach. Just like if a QB sails a ball over the WR and gets picked, hard to blame that on the coach. I'm just glad we have Santiago back there returning punts instead of Seibel, I actually look forward to receiving punts again.....that something good may actually happen instead of crossing my fingers praying we successfully catch the ball and don't fumble.
I agree. 2 kickoffs out of bounds. A missed field goal a muffed punt and a punt that wasn't fair caught and rolls to the 2. How are these Kostich's fault.

This really isn't that hard. Just do what you're supposed to and you'll be fine. Mistakes I understand but not this. Every one of the boys know right from wrong. No excuses
-
ILB's are lighter but also much faster. As of now I'm not concerned. I think there may be some attitude surrounding this point with them and a chip to prove nah sayers wrong.

Yes....nobody said right away but he's the player he was 2 years ago he will

Not sure how much blame can be put on the captains and leaders of the team. Not sure how much they would know about 80 different teammates living conditions. I do think that falls on the coaches. They are the ones recruiting these kids. Going into there homes and schools and meeting parents/guardians and teachers. IMHO this falls on Bubba and staff. Early on they talked about recruiting players with high “character “ and wanted to emphasis that part of the athlete
