  1. Every coaching staff takes a risk on recruiting "kids",because, really, thats what they are, Kids.

Some coaches do not recruit in inner city or latin(in Miami, especially)communities.Others coaches won't get out of there. I am a person who would take a chance on someone who I feel can make me better. If it doesn't workout, let him go. Not all risk are bad. UMiami got rid of a highly touted qb yesterday whose brother played for Miami,TE Greg Olsen. The brother got suspended for the 3rdtime and they told him, leave or you are gone. And he supposedly wasn't a risk. You never know. I'm not here saying change the recruiting strategy,I'm just saying try and you will be surprised.

My son is 17, early graduate, defending 8a state champ in Fl, starting fullback. He has interest from Cincinatti, Kentucky, Wagner, FIU. these are the kids that will help a team. He's 5'11' weighs 220. Everybody wants a 6'2" 235. But trust me, the 5"11 kids will work harder because they have more to prove. If not ask Sprowles. Example if UND offered today, my son would commit. These kids just want to play.

BTW UND 13 SB 10 or maybe even sb 17 UND 14

Thanks for letting me part of such a good board. GO SIOUXXX

  2. Wisconsin has 11...

That was the Barry Alvarez approach and two coaches later it's still in play. Personally, I think it's what UND should do too. Midwest is for linemen, quarterbacks, linebackers, and tight ends/fullbacks. Florida is for the remaining skill position players, because well, Florida has SPEED.

I agree with you, Midwest linemen and LB's. CA for QB's. TX SKILL. FL SKILL.

Hands down, Midwest has the best linemen. BIG TEN makes a living off of that.

  3. Just a tidbit. Please don't get me wrong, I feel it can be done. I think the cold has nothing to do with it, it where the kids feel at home;

Kids from Florida at super cold schools:

    Wisconsin 11

    Indiana   11

    Syracuse  14

    OSU  5

    WVU   22

    NDSU  7

  4. I have said and truly believe that if NDSU didn't give Time Brewster at least 1 if not 2 championship rings it is a travesty.

Speaking of which, this topic hits me home. Tim Brewster was MN head coach. Got fired and became FSU te/ recruiting coordinator. What did FSU do?

Bill Miller, MN LB coach. Now as of last year, FSU LB coach. Coach Kill sat and told me in my son's high school football coaches office, "I will treat him like my son, and he will never lose his scholarship." He forget to say my redheaded freckle face stepson and he won't lose his scholarship unless I don't want him anymore. Never gave me a reason as to why Jordan lost it. But, if it wasn't for the 3 POWER PUFF UNIVERSITIES he plays at the beginning of the year, he would not go to a bowl.

    mediocrity at its best.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest again.

  5. Hey guys tough loss last week. Let's hope for a good bounce back. I've noticed UND recruits a lot in CANADA.

I have an opinion; in order to win you need talent. the hotbed for talent is South Florida. Example, last year there was a QB, Kaleel Render. Probably the best QB 've seen. No one picked him up because of grades. I would take a chance and have him sit out a season and tutor him to the max. There are so many players that don't get picked up in South Florida, they end up going to JUCO. S. Sla is a hotbed for football and a definite swagger. Miami has a bad rap because kids feel they are so good that they should play immediately.

Coaches don't like that. Give me heart and passion and a player who wants to play than a player who's there just to say he got offered.

Those twins you guys talk about seem good. Haven't heard much about them. They might be sleepers. Their school plays in a week district where linemen weigh 240-250 tops. But with that said, they have some impressive numbers.

Look at every big time school and see how many Florida boys are on the roster.

  6. A win is a win. That brings confidence. Lets see how we respond. Should we have scored more? Should we be in such a tight game with RMU? Answer to both is NOOOOOO. But you know what, we are getting better. I really believe Bubba, "Day by Day".

    BTW, Auburn 59 SJSU 13

  7. We did get blown out. With that said, we didn't look that bad. The oline played well for being a first year together. The running game at times was very nice. The dline played well with just not having the proper angles at time, including my boy. Which is taken care of with repetition.

For what the score says, it was a blowout. But I feel very good about this team and the staff. The team never quit and I did not see them get down.

I feel good about the things to come.

  8. Guys, I'm excited. Football is here!!!!!!!!! I believe that we can't say what are record will be. I won't say because I'm unfamiliar with the conference. As for the depth chart, that is for now. Trust me, after the first game, there will be changes, I think. We have to trust the coaches on their decisions (I'm biased). We will see on the 28th how it all pans out. But, as for me, I'M glad 94 has a chance to be a part of this program. It's been a long time coming. I've been told the defense is looking good and solid.

    GOOOO SIOOOUUUUXXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After this game, where can I stream or what package does Comcast have to the games?

    Thanks
