We want players committed to excellence in the classroom and field, that stay all summer and workout and want a shot at a NC.
Bison Dunce, since when is this something NDSU considers when recruiting kids? Is this a new shift in philosophy of some sort? I was never aware of this. If so, congratulations to you guys.

The point being made here by most is this: NDSU fans come here and talk idiotic smack most of the time because they can't seem to forget about us even though they don't care about us or know who we are. In their defense, they have just won 3 national titles at FCS. Our response to them is that we have hockey and that FCS football is second rate? What a horrible argument and rebuttal. The belittlement of FCS football by hockey snobs is embarrassing to our fanbase. Remember, potential FCS football recruits read this stuff people. This type of thinking is what started the "butthockey" thing at FU. We're behind right now in football, but I can promise you we will catch up soon. Real soon. When we gain traction and get to where we belong at FCS in the playoffs and competing for national championshops, I hope our hockey fans don't sneer at it like they do now. Just a brutal attitude overall.

I'm a UND fanatic, but I do realize that our football team won't be competing against the big boys. It's just the way it is.
Big Boys is a pretty relative term though. UND currently plays in the NCHC with the following group of Big Boys: St Cloud State, Western Michigan, Minnesota-Duluth, Nebraska-Omaha, Denver, Colorado College and Miami (OH). Not exactly the SEC, ACC, B1G, Big 12, or PAC-12 is it? Even on the national level, the Big Boy hockey argument is weak. We're on the same team here, lets just stop belittling other UND sports.

And some schools like to display the highest level of division one national championship trophies opposed to those inconsequential, best of the lousiest, subdivision things...
This attitude from hockey fans is embarrassing and laughable. FCS is Division 1 and happens to be the same level of competition that UND (the same school you cheer for in hockey) plays at. Are you a "UND Fan" or a "UND Hockey Fan"? If you don't care about lousy subdivision FCS football, then just stay in the hockey forum until you can come up with some better smack.

The only chance this team has is to win the regular season championship and host the tourney at the Betty. Unfortunately this team has given me no reason to believe they can go on the road in the BSC tourney and make a run to get to the big dance. Please prove me wrong.

The issue at hand now is that I didn't speak them, I wrote them. I agree that it is a recruiting thread,that I did not care about until my name was posted and it was implied that I was a racist.
Not racist. Just awful. He's a high school football recruit. 18 years old, maybe. I'm sure you were golden at that age. Think before you tweet. Let's move on.

So lets see, UND is offering more money and a much easier path to playing time. NDSU already has a DE committed that was much more heavily recruited and has a tremendous upside (Greg Menard),an athlete who may project as a DE (Marcus Collins), both of whom have FBS offers, and a true freshman they took the redshirt off of this year (Ambrosius) ahead of him. It sounds like the kid made a good decision for himself. Now show me a heavily recruited kid with equal offers from both schools that picks UND. Then they will have won a head to head recruiting battle.
Joe Mollberg, anyone? You guys even tried to strong-arm him in the media to commit to NDSU if I recall?

What? I didn't badmouth any recruit. Ever. All I said was that it was getting chippy over on bisonville because Ezra was reconsidering his verbal to NDSU and was looking at UND. And that was the truth. So please explain what you are talking about.

who is 'laying the groundwork' here, homer or the other guy? Is there any reason to doubt the 1/2 ride offer? Of course not, but it will feel alot better if siouxsports can pretend it was a full, right?

Why would anyone here talk down FCS football as "JV"? And gopher football fans, seriously? You have no leg to stand on here. Where does hockey fall in the big scheme of things in the U.S.A.? From a fan interest standpoint it's behind football, baseball, basketball, golf and NASCAR on the national scene, and I don't think there's really an argument otherwise. You might have an argument worldwide, but we all know where that gets us for the sport of soccer, correct? Our UND hockey program is second to none, but lets be honest here. We play at the same level as the cow college for every sport, my friends. If we were winning FCS Football titles, I think attitudes would be different here. Once we chase down the 4-H exhibit at FU, we will once again dominate them in all sports, which is the way we are all used to. It will happen too, mark it down.

However, if Wilkie is successful at SW (and we have no idea at this point), I'll reiterate it would neither be the first time nor the last that multiple FCS programs "missed the boat" on a d2 player (see the names I referenced earlier).
So if he does well at SW then that means he would have done well at UND in the BSC or SDSU and NDSU in the MVFC? Does that mean Alabama and the rest of the SEC "missed the boat" on Brock Jensen since he did so well in Fargo at a level lower than FBS? Flawed reasoning and logic in my opinion.

Terrible decision on our part not to offer.
What? Why? The past and present staffs both didn't offer him as well as the other hundred-some FCS schools in the country. So who's wrong on this one? Would have been a great kid to have walk-on though. Maybe that still could be an option if UND offers it to him?

Montana couldn't handle dii ndsu in 2003, so what makes you think und could have handled dii ferris in 2013?
Yea so? Your beloved MVFC UNI Panthers couldnt handle D2 UND in 2006 in Cedar Falls either.

Bison Dunce - FU and its athletic dept, media (Kolpack and Izzo) and fans are the KINGS of propaganda. Remember, we don't exist and don't play at the same level. You are way above us in everything even though we kick your ass on the court and field when we do finally play each other. The funniest of all is that FU tries to call itself the flagship of ND. Now that is some serious propaganda right there because everyone knows The University of North Dakota is the flagship of the state, hence the name.
