Don't feel quite as bad about this as the others, simply because I have a feeling he could have had penalty problems in the NCAA as well, but who knows what he would have added on offense and character. He wasn't going to be here for a couple years anyway, so like you said, I think UND has the type of program, that given time to find an elite replacement, will be high up on many recruits list. Would feel worse if they lose Schmaltz.
Good point and I agree losing Nick would be worse. Hopefully Jordan tells him all about this place to keep him on track to coming here. UND will for sure find a replacement. Many many many other players out there.

Not 100% on that though. Either way, I don't expect him to commit to UND.
Sounds like a heck of a recruit. I hope they wowed him but like u said I don't think he will come here either. Gophers written all over him

im not sure if the sioux were in on jack glover and ryan collins- two ntdp defensemen- but they both committed to minnesota.

Wade Murphy is leading point now in the BCHL with 22 points in 12 games not bad at all.

Read my post again. I didn't say they weren't loaded with talent, I merely pointed out an element of the Goofs team that is typically missing from their roster. Tech forced them to play along the boards and their talented roster didn't match up. Most of them are likely afraid that they might break a fingernail or something like that.

I have seen Mantha play in Fargo and he's man child looked like he had good hands and yes he skate if out falling down

I hope the coaches they work with until they get here put some emphasis on skating. There's nothing more frustrating than having a huge dude on the ice that gets consistently skated around like he's a big orange (or green) road pylon.

I've heard the 6'4" is a bit of an exaggeration, that he's actually 6'2". But nonetheless, that kind of size with a lot of skill is a nice package.
As far as Mantha is concerned, he is as advertised - very big kid. I saw him play in Fargo a couple weeks ago, had a nice game and he has some very solid offensive instincts as evidenced by a couple of nice stretch passes he delivered. You can tell he once played forward.

RULES:
Anyone can enter. Only 1 entry per person
Each night the Sioux play, you are allowed to select 1 Sioux player you think will score a goal.
Your player must score or you are eliminated from the competition.
If your player scores a goal, you will move on to the next night the Sioux play.
You will again select 1 Sioux player you think will score a goal, HOWEVER, you may not select the player you used in the previous round(s) as you can only use each player 1 time, and 1 time only.
Again, if your player does not score a goal, you are eliminated. If your player does score a goal, you will again move on to the next night the Sioux play. Last one standing is the SURVIVOR!

All selections must be in 1/2 hour prior to game time(ex. game time 737p, picks must be in by 707p). We will be using this boards clock as the official clock.
If you qualify but miss a game, you are automatically ELIMINATED from the game.
If all people are eliminated in the same night, all players that were eligible for that game will carry over to the next Sioux game as though all their players scored the previous night.
You are allowed to post "if I make it" picks for a weekend series. For example: Sioux play Fri/Sat. You can make your picks for both games, please post these in the same post.
Once your selection is made, you can NOT change it. Be aware of who is dressing and who is not, it is YOUR responsibility to find out!
Shootout goals do NOT count as a goal scored.
When down to 2 players, each participant must select a different player.
Siouxsports.com will be used for all official stats and time keeping.
