  1. Any speculation of Lennon moving on is just that. At this point there is nothing but rumor. He has never shown that he even wants to move on, even Lennon stated that his trip to Sac St was out of respect for Wanless, not because he had a sincere interest in the job. He has never stated any displeasure for the program, city , or university. The only people who seem to think he is going to leave are Bison people, that isn't a dig at them, but they all seem to think he is gone for whatever the reason. I'd be very surprised if he left.

  2. Phil Jackson have any elgibility remaining?

Listening to the basketball game, I am very pleased with how this depleted team is playing. Beating CSP shorthanded at CSP (a team that ad SDSU beat but ended up losing by 1) and winning at Northern, always a good team and a tough place to play, and performing well right now. Rich getting this team to win says more about his coaching than I think a lot of people can imagine. If we don't have Parks for the rest of the year, and Nobles sounds like he is going to be out for quite a while longer, and Rich can pull out an above .500 overall record, I'll have to believe that this would be the most impressive year for him as a coach at UND, and should quiet doubters about his ability. If he can win with a lineup made up largly of walk-ons and partial scholarship guys (Wells, Jahner, Dahl, Bradley), that only validates that his job shouldn't be in jeopardy.

  3. Good call Rat- however it was Sioux fans that began whining about being banned from a board they supposedly don't care about in the first place. Not to mention the fact that Corella is whining about ONE fan, not a couple, who made a racist joke. How is that any different? Is Corella a little too sensitive also? It may have been uncalled for, but atleast he kept it on the GV board, and didn't come over here to fill up your board with insults. It's on our board, you don't wanna read it, don't read it. It's not your board anyway, on the other hand Sioux fans are writing disrespectful stuff about us on our board, in posts that GV fans started.

Go ahead and write disrespectful stuff, it is a message board, if you take it seriously, you have definite problems. And any decent message board, such as this and bisonville, have moderators who delete things of poor taste. But when someone pulls out the race card that is where everyone on Earth draws the line. It wasn't a rumor of somebody playing the card at a football game, this dumba*% came right out and pulled one from his deck plain and clear for all to see, and wasn't reprimanded. That's fine that the "joke", as he called it, was left up, that says something about your board. One racist joke is way too many, this isn't the 50's and 60's anymore, they aren't tolerated anywhere, unless evidently they are in Allendale, MI. Am I too sensitive, no way, maybe I just know the difference between right, wrong, and way over the line. My $.02.

  4. That's a pretty classy site over there. There are a couple people making racist remarks about Native Americans, and then playing them off by saying that they were kidding. ;) How come they aren't banned, gvfootball.com?

  5. Did it rain there in 2001?

Yeah, there was a sready dirzzle coming down for almost the entire game. It made for an interesting drive homw after the game, a bunch of soaked guys smelling like wet dogs. Hopefully this won't be the case this year. However, rain may be to our advantage.

  6. Well it could not have that bad because it looked like there were 2 NDSU lettermen down close to the front (Unless a local high school has the same logo and colors).

That's correct, Alan Burrell a WR, and Mike Shepperd, a Safety, both of whom are alo African Americans. They didn't seem upset by any of the actions of the students (i.e. any racial comments).

  7. Is there any real credible evidence of racial slurs being thrown out? I was in the front row, and heard nothing of the sort. In fact, there were a number of African Americans sitting in the same area as I was, and I didn't hear them have anything to complain about. Calling someone a hick isn't a racial slur. I have a problem with people coming out and making those accusations when there is no real evidence of any slurs being thrown out, with exception of #27 for UNA making a comment to our student section which I and everyone else around heard. If I heard any from UND's end I'd have no problem admitting it, because it is something that, if it did happen, should be addressed, but I have real doubts that it did.

  8. The only thing that really got me was ...... and drug test comments.

I don't see what is morally wrong about making light of the drug test situation. If that wasn't expected to be heard you guys play in a pretty lame conference from a fans' standpoint. There wouldn't be a place in the NCC where the same wouldn't be heard and expected regarding the suspensions, and I don't see why that is wrong at all. If the comments aren't wanted, well, keep clean then. I don't think anyone would make any apologies for making the drug related comments. And I don't think I am out of line at all in this opinion.

  9. I couldn't agree more and I suspect there will be a lot of that type of whining next week on this board. We'll see...

As for the TimeDaily article: You're delusional if you don't think the Alerus Center helped UND win. I am not taking anything away from your team. They played spectacularly. However, Its ridiculous to imply that the score would have been the same if it was played in Florence. The simple fact is, UNA got screwed by the NCAA. We got penalized three reasons: being undefeated, beating the #1 team in the nation, and beating a Division 1AA conference champion. Keep in mind, you were the ones with a loss...not us. How you can possibly justify why UND had homefield advantage is complete lunacy to me. The strength of schedule argument is laughable. The NCAA gave you the game because they would have caught flack for the seeming injustice of UNA being able to host all their playoff games. It happened in the early 90s when we won so many games there. It's not our fault that we host the championship game. Too bad we got screwed because of it.

You used your homefield advantage to your advantage this weekend...as you should have. Congrats on the win and I hope you all have a safe trip to Florence.

Evidently you "forgot" the biggest reason why UNA didn't host. You played a provisional D2 team, which hurts the SOS big time. Your tears don't have much merit anymore. You got utterly dominated on the field by an obviously superior team, playing 3/4 of the game without its biggest weapon in Travis Lueck and steady Jessie Ahlers. If the game was in Florence it probably would've been more lopsided, because with all of UNA's "speed" it should've been much better off on turf. The committee must have known which team was better going in, because the better team hosted, and the better team won.

  10. And if this is the first place you have ever heard opossing fans swear at your team, it's time to get out a bit more. If you can swear on network TV, you can swear at a football game. It should be taken for what it is worth. If swearing really gets under your skin, maybe you should open up your eyes and see the rest of the world a bit. I guess I can't sympathize with people who are bitching about too much cussing.

  11. I was in the front row. The only racial slurs were coming from the mouth of #27 for UNA. If one such racial slur was uttered from the students, it was out the door for that person. #27 told Jamaal Franklin, a UND DB who was yelling at the UNA players, to "act his color", and that was the only racial comment the entire game. The fact that these UNA folks are playing the race card is ridiculous. Calling someone a southern hick isn't a racial slur. People are way too sensitive upon failure today. Excuses excuses.

  12. Are you saying that Montana isn't a better program than any D2 team?

Then the 1AA National Title game should be St. Cloud vs UND by your logic. The only postseason action you guys will get for the next 6 years will come straight from Bob Entzion.

  13. I came over to this board to read about North Dakota football, but all I can find out about is how stupid, ignorant, toothless and how much UNA cheats. Why do you feel that it is necessary to constantly run down the opponent? Do you run us down, so you will feel better about your own team?

Hey Goon, we have heard of hockey, but since we live in beautiful warm Alabama we can go out and do something more constructive instead of playing in the snow and ice.

One last point before I go. You had better treat the UNA fans with respect, because there will be a lot more of us in the stands on December 13th at the National Championship game than North Dakota will be able to bring if they beat UNA on Saturday. We would be happy to pull for your opponent if you make it to the championship game.

Seems to me UNAGRAD has been treated pretty nicely as opposed to what his counterparts on the UNA message board did as described in Goon's quote that started the thread

  14. "But UND played such a weak schedule." Well, that really doesn't matter now. People don't realize that a playing a brutal schedule doesn't necessarily mean success. In hoops, Syracuse always plays one of the weaker schedules, and they cut down the nets last year. Right now, UND playing a "weak" schedule looks pretty good. The naysayers can insert foot in mouth now. ;)???:)

  15. Through the course of the night I have talked to other knowledgeable football people, and it was agreed that Winona St., while a good team and admirable opponent, is much too gimicy (SP??) for my liking. UNDVince97-01 thought the same thing. Not meaning to take anything away from them, but I wondered what any other posters thought. A RB pass, at least 2 reverses, the OL jumping up at the same time & adjusting gaps, all of the playaction pitches they ran. Too gimicy for me & others.

  16. I realize this is my first post, but even though I wonder why there is so much disbelief in what the Sioux have done this year? If they win one at the end of the game, maybe it is luck. Two at the end of the game, still maybe luck. Three, maybe they are doing something right. Four and above, it shouldn't be questioned anymore. Something needs to be said about having the right people in the right place at the right time. A team doesn't continually do that based on luck. Perhaps credit should be given where it is due. Sure, Winona shouldn't have been allowed to come back today, and they should be given all the credit in the world, but the Fighting Sioux don't run up a record like they have based on luck (as most "Scream Yellow" fans would have you think). I'm so sick of hearing that from them. You're Bison, deal with it.
