I LOVE the interlocking ND logo and would be devastated if they ever took it off the football helmets. I like it when ignorant people bring up the fact that it looks like the Notre Dame logo, so that I can correct them and say that the Notre Dame logo actually looks like the North Dakota logo. We had it first, it's as simple as that. Notre Dame is obviously more well known nationally because of their football team, but so what? I don't think I would like to see the indian head on the football helmets. I think that logo should be exclusive to the hockey team. On the hockey jerseys I would actually prefer to see the crossed tomahawks over the letter S on the shoulders. I also like the idea of having the interlocking ND on one shoulder and the crossed tomahawks over the S on the other shoulder. Here's an idea for the football uniforms... let's go to an early '80s retro look. Silver helmets with green stripes and the interlocking ND logo in green. Silver pants with green stripes and NORTH DAKOTA across the fronts of the jerseys above the numbers.

I would hope they would never revisit those silver uniform colors of the early 80s.
They were and still are quite fugly.

I agree with Cratter, I think "odd that you would contact UND administators and tell them that there was someone on a message board that was spreading rumors about Greene failing a field sobriety test."

UNO has played a home and home with Minnesota State the last few years so I would love to get a least one home and home with the Sioux.

Why would you write that article about Greene? I hope the players think about granting you any access in the future, there is no way I would ever grant you an interview request, you sold Greene out pretty fast, sad. Do we have to shamelessly plug our own articles everytime we write something new for USCHO?

No offense, everyone... BUT:
I can't figure out why a good humored poll or thread such as this always has to turn into a whine and cheese about fighting. Most of us know where most of us stand on the topic already... but why do some have to keep reminding us?
Let the fun-natured, semi-serious threads serve the purpose they're there for, and spare us the opinionated lectures. Flame on.
BTW, I voted McMahon. A broken schnozz will get you the fighting "W" every time.

I couldn't agree more. Anytime there is a thread about a certain fight or fighting, we have to hear the same lectures from the same people about how fighting is wrong and doesn't belong in the sport. It was just a fun poll and thread, nothing else.

Fighting is not part of the college hockey game. That's not only my opinion, but also the opinion of Andy Murray, father of Brady Murray and coach of the NHL Los Angeles Kings. The NCAA has all but eliminated fighting from college hockey. The NHL could, too, if it so desired.
Matt Greene admitted that McMahon's fight was an attempt to spark the team. It had nothing to do with lack of officiating, cheap play or using sticks and skates as weapons. In the end, the fight wasn't worth it. It did nothing to change the outcome against Minnesota and McMahon's absence cost the Sioux against Boston College.

Some people won't be happy until checking is out of the game and everyone is skating around in skirts.

I think Lucia will be the Head Coach of the Sioux with Scotty Bowman coming out of retirement to coach SCSU, Dahl moving on to Minneapolis and Sauer returns to the helm of the Badgers.
You really love the Redwings, I'm not sure if you ever post anything without mentioning Scotty Bowman or a Red Wings player.

Just remember, no matter how much you despise the Maple Leafs, they have one thing that the Flyers will never have: Status of being one of the original six. All the rest are just wannabes.
Sounds like a fan who is mad his team is out of the playoffs.
I'm sure the Flyers, Lightning, Sharks, and Flames care more about winning a cup than being an original six team.

I have to agree with CRR. I don't see how being from western Nodak has anything to do with Kleinsasser and Hansen being up higher on the list than Belfour.
Belfour has gone on to have an exceptional NHL career, after backstopping the Sioux to the national championship in his only season with them in '87. But I do not believe that qualifies him as being one of North Dakota's greatest athletes, where Maris, Erstad, and Jackson are great athletes and native North Dakotans.

Does anyone know if UND will be selling tickets here in Grand Forks for the game? I will be driving over with others and was wondering if I could get my tickets in the UND section before the game.

I see that no one figured out that these were only my opinions, not facts. Although i hope this happens which, i think, will force UND to move up to D1 so they can actually be a D1 school.

Give the Mayville State Comet ladies some credit. They might not be to best team in the DAC-10 but they sure have sweet guard in Mandey Gillis.
Give them credit for what? Losing by 50 instead of 70???

Patrick Roy, Martin Brodeur, Ed Belfour are "great" goalies. Lets wait a few years before we start throwing that word around with your son.
