I think they're barking for consistency. They said the major against UND was a bad call early. Should have just been 2 they thought.

Live in Twin Cities, attended both times in Fargo (first time buying tickets from SCSU, second time getting lucky in the sale) and stayed with friends/family. However, this March was very busy in life in other ways (extended vacation, selling home, and other stuff) and no lodging connections in Sioux Falls. Also, would need PTO at work with a Friday game and took a bunch for vacation. Frozen Four also being in town which likely would not be a cheap ticket should UND make it.
All those things combined, it was a year to sit out. Hopeful to be in Fargo a third time, and hopeful UND will be as well!

I know this is talking about the Frozen Faceoff, but Fargo has now hosted both SCSU (2015) and UMD (2017) in the West Regional and neither year did the fan base buy their allotted tickets. Both years UND fans called to get on the waiting list and were able to buy tickets from them. If you can't get those fans to buy tickets for a regional, you shouldn't expect them to show up at the Frozen Faceoff.
My point is this goes deeper than just the Frozen Faceoff.

Yep, when 'my friend' called St. Cloud in 2015 for tickets in Fargo, they were told they were taking orders from season ticket holders first but would call me if anything was still available after the STH deadline passed. Sure enough, to my surprise, a couple days later the phone rang and I, I mean 'they', was offered tickets.

Nevermind, it was even worse than I thought. Saw this on the USCHO.com forums:
At the MHSAA hockey finals last weekend in Plymouth, the Detroit Sports Commission was in the USA Hockey Arena offering free tickets to the Big Ten tournament. All you had to do was walk up to the table and say you wanted 4, and they handed them right to you no questions asked. In the two games I attended we stood right next to the table, and I can't remember more than 10 people who even approached the display, let alone took the ticket offer. There was a rubber-banded stack of at least 1000 tickets just sitting there next to the poor forlorn attendant, who must have thought he was a leper the way people were avoiding him.

Have you been to Target Center for a Frozen Faceoff? They are never one to prepare in advance for anything new.
The ice is in for Disney on Ice and the Frozen Faceoff. Plus, it was forecast for a warm, humid stormy evening. Most people would think to turn on the AC, but nope, not Target Center.
That being said, it was funny to hear the explanations from people on the news, like that the ice was seeping through the floor. Nope.... try taking a cold can or beer or Coke out of the fridge and set it on the counter at room temperature, and you'll see what happens. Same thing happened last night to the court.

Yes, good to be lucky! And it's mostly luck... No idea how many were available, but if just 200 tickets were available, then somewhere between 50 and 100 people got tickets. Imagine how many people were trying!
The second the screen opens, the first 50-100 people who can move the quickest to select and press the button win.

I got 2 of the ticket packages. (Section 113 Row C)
I refreshed at 10:01 AM to check on 2 more and they said no more 2 together.
I refreshed to try 1 and it said sold out.

Here's all your light rail info from someone who lives in the Twin Cities:

The best thing you can do is show up at a stop and buy an "All-Day Pass" which pays for your rides until 2 AM (the next morning) so that you can continue to ride if you want to go get some food/drink before or after. Then you just hold the pass and don't need to buy anything else. In fact, you can pocket the pass for the night unless a metro cop rides along and asks for proof of payment. The pass is also good for any bus rides as well.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars along the light rail, so it's a nice and easy way to park a car for free someplace else and take away the hassle of driving/parking and crowds.
If you're staying anyplace along the Blue Line (Mall of America, airport, etc.) then take the blue line towards Minneapolis, get off at the US Bank Stadium and wait for a Green Line towards St. Paul.

Agreed. Part of me would love to see this game in Fargo or Tampa. Part of me wants none of them.
