  1. Picking up tickets at the door tonight. Prices look to be between $17-$25 based on where you sit.

That's a pretty fair price, especially when you start to think about how much people are going to spend on #20 Minnesota vs. #55 Wisconsin tickets in Madison!  :p

  2. St. Cloud's current Home unis look great (Very similiar to the Frattin Era Sioux sweaters):

Duluth's Newer Home tarps look awesome. I really like that logo on their shoulders:

If the Sioux dropped the "pit stains" on their current homes they would look much nicer. Its a confused look, traditional throwback shoulder yokes with modern under-arm 3rd color, just looks tacky.

  3. Just had a funny Twitter exchange with Midco:

@MidcoSN, Having a hard time getting any @UNDMHockey on FCS. Is there something broken on your end?

@aburesh01 @UNDMHockey We are in agreement with FCS to give them just 5 games that we are producing this season

I guess this confirms the press release that was leaked yesterday regarding the 5 games on FCS this year.

Notice their use of the word 'just' (5 games). strange.
  4. I like the Imperial Room. Good happy hour, and great food! Never really too busy either. It's on First Ave just a couple blocks away from the Target Center.

Imperial Room is my favorite bar down in area around the Target Center. $4 22oz craft beers and cheap above average appetizers.

A word to the wise though... The Imperial Room along with others (Pourhouse and Sneaky Pete's) turn into dance clubs around 10pm.

If you are willing to venture a little further away from the Target Center, the Smack Shack on Washington is always fun too.

  5. Buy a hdmi cable, attach one end to your laptop, other end to your big a** TV. Set your big a** TV to PC,enjoy blurryfigures (and giant tiger heads) lagging across a big a** screen. If your lucky, radio will be in sync with video and you can listen to TH instead of crappy local announcers.

Or you could make the trek to Houghton! Tickets are 18 bucks a night SRO. 2 years ago SRO meant sitting 7 rows up on the blueline that the Sioux were attacking that period.

Great town with great fans too.

Probably the last time UND will play there for a very very long time.

  6. The fan fight was ridiculously. Not sure how it happened or if a Gopher instigated the fight with a Sioux fan. Either way, glad the Sioux fan dropped the Gopher fan for his antics. I don't promote this behavior whatsoever, but when push comes to shove, I'm glad that Sioux fan got a solid right in.

It's not surprising that Gophers fans are involved...

    Here's what I saw

A Sioux fan was standing up trying to get the crowd involved during a lull in the action. A gopher fan told him to sit down,. of course there were a few choice words added. Sioux fan didn;t take to kindly to this, verbal fight began. Some guy in a Garby (Because he was garbage) Hendirckson jersey came down and got involved. A fight ensued, I guess there was a good amount of blood spilled too.

As the guy was walking up the aiisle I said: "I remember my first final five too."

  7. How about a welcome to your going away party? (for the Gophers) Or its been so long since you were here we thought you got lost on your 3 mile trip.

Can't think of much for Denver, just the coaching antics....

My Sign for the Gopher game (If we get there):

"Welcome back Gophers, we didn't miss you"

  8. After sitting on the glass behind their bench at the Final Five for a game last year, I witnessed first hand how truly arrogant they really are. And I hated them before. That experience just magnified everything. I hope we destroy them.

What sort of stuff did you see?

I too will be making the long trip from St. Paul all the way to Magness Arena. Can't wait to watch some intense hockey this weekend!

  9. I'm staying in Mpls. on Washington Ave. near the Metrodome. Any place near here where Sioux fans go to watch the game?

Grumpy's On Washington should have it on, might have to request to have the channel changed for you though. otherwise A lot of Sioux fans head to Senser's in Roseville to watch games, not that far of a drive from Washington Ave.

  10. I don't think anyone is advocating using the tactics that Michigan did against us last year to slow the game to a crawl, but anytime we have the opportunity to take an extra 30 seconds here or there with a frozen puck it would be to our advantage, we need to keep the top 3 lines on the ice as much as possible without burning them out before the stretch run in the third period.

If I'm Wisconsin I would push the puck hard at every opportunity and try to win the war of attrition later in the game, it's the right strategy considering our forward shortage.

For the first time in a long time a slow game pace and TV timeouts will be beneficial to the Sioux. Last year TV timeouts would hurt us because of our depth, this year is another story.

I will be at the Gopher-Huskies game tonight cheering for the Gopher rejects. Hopefully they don't announce the score during the game as I have it Tivoed.

  11. The other side of that is more faceoffs in the Sioux zone?

Yes there will be more faceoffs in our zone. I trust our top 3 centers, I don't trust Senkbeil or Dickin getting more than 5 shifts tonight :-)

  12. How does one slow the pace down when there's another team out there? Physical play? Which takes more of a toll on the body - speed or checking?

I think having the extra ~3000 sq. ft. of the olympic surface to cover last weekend didn't do us any favors as well. It will probably be a little tighter and hopefully easier on our thin lineup this weekend on an NHL sheet.

My thought would be to slow it down with stoppages. Anytime Dell or Eids can they should freeze the puck. get the Knightline 20-30 seconds more of a breather.

  13. Three Goals? The Sioux won 3-2...:-)

I counted that 4th line having 5 shifts on Saturday. That's not a good ratio. They will do better.

Yes, you're right. the 3rd was kicked in and our top line was on the ice :D

  14. That's what I was afraid of...we better not get nicked up tonight or guys are going to be playing ironman all weekend.

Need some serious production out of Knight, Krispy Toes and Nelson tonight. Just weather the storm with the rest of the guys.

  15. This weekend's UND/SCSU games will be on Charter channel 87 in St. Cloud, Comcast Channel 13 (St. Paul) and Comcast Channel 23 (Minneapolis)

UND fans in the SC and TC metro area can watch the game on Charter ch.87 in St Cloud, Comcast ch.13 in Minneapolis and Comcast ch.23 in St Paul.

Not unless you are in the Twin Cities and have Comcast.

  16. The wife and I are going to b introducing a college buddy and his wife to Sioux Hockey on Saturday night in St Cloud.

The only question now is what jerseys to wear?

I may break out the authentic black Genoway I just finished if they wear black on Saturday, if not I just don't think a guy can go wrong with the clasic 82 Eades again.

Either way we are looking forward to it, don't think well make the social but you never know.

Hoing for a good showing from the depleted ranks, just need lots of energy and drive to get points this weekend.

My guess is Green Friday and Black on Saturday.

Will this be the last time we see the "Sioux" in Black uniforms?

On FSN last weekend they had said that the new uniforms were arriving at the end of the month.

  17. This weekend will be a Cluster. If we can sneak out of St. Cloud with more then 2 points I will be optimistic about the rest of the season.

If not, I am affraid to say that they be going on the road for the first round of the WCHA's

  18. Grimaldi done for the year, unfortunate.

"Rocco Grimaldi will have season-ending knee surgery. No updates on Brendan O'Donnell likely until early next week.
