  1. No question that this is a bad mark on the program.

But stating this will linger and give plenty of fodder for a long long time?

NDSU's Best Buy scandal, as well as their pot dealer and DUIs was just two years ago. The Best Buy scandal was one of the more egregious scandals in FCS of all time. But where is NDSU football today?

Egregious scandals of all time? Somebody must have just heard the final of the Bison game.

  2. Hadn't realized that the MVFC/Gateway has had only four teams in the FCS championship game, winning two of them (Youngstown St and W Kentucky have one championship). WKU isn't even a member of the league anymore.

Next time a Bison fan talks about the Big Sky being the Big Fluffy, they need to recognize by their own smack standards that the MVFC is the Big Puffy in comparison (in honor of the puffed out Bison fans' chests with participation ribbons).

Ouch, that really hurt my feelings.

  3. "To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reasoning is like administering medicine to the dead."

    ~Thomas Paine

..and with that I am now done wasting my time with you. You have proven yourself to be one of the most illogical and irrational people on this board.

Give my condolences to your family.

  4. So let me get this straight. This amendment will not allow us to gain a new nickname for 3 years. Ok how did they come up with that number? That seems very arbitrary to me? It may be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. I can't stop laughing at this its so beyond stupid. As if there is a prescribed amount of time that will automatically transpire and all of a sudden we can get a new nickname? Some people will not be ready 20 years from now. Some will be ready next year. I've been on record as saying the sooner the bettter. There's no sense on trying to keep the bandaid on. It's going to hurt no matter when it comes off. But honestly, who are these people who came up with this number of 3 years? How in the world did they get to it? Is it a message from god? "3 years from now- it will be ok to get a new nickname" If anything it just goes to show how moronic our elected officials in ND are. Wow. Whatever, it is- this is very funny.

Exactly. And what happens in 3 years when the cooling off period ends. This is the sort of reasoning you use with a unruly 3 year old,

  5. Funny that their thread on Bisonville about the polls....has tons of posts wondering if UND is going to be in. Obsessed much?

Darell, I don't think anything has been mentioned for days on Bisonville about UND being ranked in the polls. You need to reel in your obsession alittle, you like Dave K. are starting to provide much comic relief.

  6. Now you're sounding like one of those snobby Bison fans with the suggestion that being a former student somehow makes you more of a fan. Be careful not to hurt yourself getting down from the high horse you've placed yourself on top of. I'm quite secure with my standing as a FIGHTING SIOUX fan, having been attending football games since I was 8 years old in the fall of 1978.

Wow, hard to beleive you are 41, but still thinking like an 8 year old.

  7. I will have to admit I do see a lot of Sioux jersey's around Fargo and something has always struck me as vaguely familar whenever I see someone wearing Sioux apparel. I wasn't able to put my finger on it until today. At noon today I had to go to Walmart to replenish my supply of cheap cologne when the familarity hit. I am sure everyone has seen those picture emails, "people of Walmart". Well, does anyone else see the simularities?

  8. Okay, I stand corrected. I still don't think they will be favored again this year, as the Bison are nowhere near as good as they were in '07 and I don't think the Gophers are nearly as weak as they were in '07... but I'm still suprised that this line favored NDSU even in '07. So I will retract my statement that a I-AA can never be favored over a D1. In rare cases where a great I-AA plays a terrible D1 the I-AA can actually be favored.

See, now who says I can't admit it when I've been proven wrong?

I think what you just did is the first step in a long process. I congratulate you!!!

  9. Bizarro world?? When did you become Mr. Feelings? Wah wah wah respect my feelings.

Simple answer to a simple question : YES!!!

To further elaborate on this thought with some hypothetical scenarios...

My favorite NHL team is the Pittsburgh Penguins. If they moved to a different city and kept the Penguins name I would still be a fan, but if they stayed in Pittsburgh and changed the name I would no longer follow them.

My favorite MLB team is the Minnesota Twins. If they moved to a different city and kept the Twins name I would still be a fan, but if they stayed in Minnesota and changed the name I would no longer follow them.

My favorite NFL team is the Green Bay Packers. If they moved to a different city and kept the Packers name I would still be a fan, but if they stayed in Green Bay and changed the name I would no longer follow them.

See a trend? Geography does not dictate who I cheer for. I don't cheer for Pittsburgh, I cheer for the Penguins. I don't cheer for Minnesota, I cheer for the Twins. I don't cheer for Green Bay, I cheer for the Packers. I don't cheer for UND, I cheer for the Sioux. That is why I am taking this so hard. My favorite team that I have followed since I was a little boy would cease to exist if this thing plays out the way people are saying it will. I don't expect everybody to feel the same way that I do, as we are all different individuals with different emotions. However, all I ask is that you respect the fact that my feelings are what they are and don't try to tell me I'm "wrong" to feel that way.
