I say we play the hand and accept an offer if and only if we become a full athletic member. Only reasonable that the states flagship university is in a Power 5.
And the two men's teams on the chopping block (baseball & golf) are saved as the B1G sanctions both sports.

Um, we do have more sports than just hockey...
And what other sport wears a large crest across their chest other than the hockey team? Zero. Every other team has "North Dakota" across their chest. Thus "North Dakota" is maxime superiores, "The Very Best"

Just "North Dakota" should do. The possibilities are endless and nothing with be half as good as the previous.

I don't think the QU coach is blowing smoke. Has any of you tried getting a flight for a family of 4 in or out of North Dakota with less then a weeks notice? Not to mention 30+ with student athletes, coaches, trainers, etc. Good Luck, probably blow the schools athletics budget for a year plus... They would definitely be better bussing up from Minny.

Adding the second sheet to Schaumburg is further along than most realize, I personally think it's a mistake. Bismarck seems to be all about putting lipstick on a pig, the "Bismarck Event Center" is proof of this. They need to build a facility in the same capacity as Scheel's arena in Fargo. Before long they will have 3 high school varsity teams playing within the dump that is VFW. Mandan is in talks and quite a bit further along than Bismarck to add two new sheets of ice. Would be a cold day in hell when Mandan has as many sheets of ice as Bismarck.
Just reading the article in the Fargo Forum today about Scheel's Arena and the High School Hockey tournament, the main point being build it and they will come. Maybe a new facility in Bismarck could host a NCAA regional one day. With the expansion of college hockey it's only going to push further west.

I sure hope so at a 65,000 fan capacity. Alerus is a 1/3 of that. They used to have ice in the Civic Center in Bismarck. Hell the lowly Bismarck Bobcats played there and still found a way to turn a profit.Ford Field was for the most part a failure.
Granted both the Ralph and Alerus (almost double) are bigger than the Civic Center, I think if they can fill the Ralph they could find a way to utilize the Alerus for a regional and keep it around 12,000 - 15,000 capacity wise.

Any reason why they don't chase a regional with the Alerus Center? Yeah they need to bring in the compressors and the like to make ice but they did play the 2010 Frozen Four at Ford Field.

Was at the Miami Series and while I do remember Phil Collins I don't recall any Tool songs. The song on Saturday night was The Xx - Intro

They have a Twitter Account that has a couple of posts with a roster/stats. Last name only and being out of the high school hockey scene the past few seasons none of the names ring any bells for me. Maybe someone else could be of help on where they previously played.
