  1. agreed. last night hurt. but it pointed out that the "undefeated sioux" as of friday afternoon are not invincible. and we have a lot of work to do. may have been a case of being over-confident and skating as such, instead of skating to win. either way, we gotta play differently tonight and get the win.
  2. well someone mentioned we should get the split.....well here is my thoughts on that: EVERYONE wants to win, there is no question about that. But remember, this is VERY early in the season. And what is this team known for? Slow starts. If we do get swept, its not like it will be the worst sweep/weekend in the last few seasons. It wont even be a bad start to the season overall, one of the better ones in recent seasons. So, as much as I want to win, i just dont feel it is a MUST WIN or anything like that. hope that doesnt make me sound anti-winning or anything like that. just being realistic.
  3. Well, I think Kristo is due a freakin goal by now, and with Forbort being a D-Man, his chances of scoring are lower, so I guess I am hoping this game ends tonight with Kristo scoring a goal. Of course, on the bigger picture, I could care less who it is as long as we beat the crap outta Maine tonight, after last night's egg. Either way, good luck dagies. its gettin to be a real good game! both of us didnt expect to make it this far, and now that we are, we cant get a winner! crazy! good luck!
  4. You know what I completely forgot for the last 2 weeks that I have been back on here? I frorgot to mention that at the end of the AHL regular season last year I went to a Texas Stars vs. Houston Aeros game in Austin and was lucky enough to see Tony Hrkac play. I cant remember any details, and I do have pictures, but of course I have no way of putting them up here from my personal computer, since we cant connect our personal computers to the network. But, I thought it was awesome to see him play. I didnt even realize before I got to the game that he was playing. So that was a welcome surprise.
  5. ah yes, good catch, somehow I missed that rule! then lemme think a little more about it and I will input those into this post..... Friday: Trupp Saturday: Kristo im a little hesitant on these...i WANT to pick a defenseman in there somewhere, as I havent yet, but there are so few goals scored by them, obviously, it just doesnt feel like a safe pick with any of them. again, good luck dagies!
  6. Well, it is early friday morning here, so ill go ahead and make my picks..... Friday: Gregoire Saturday: Frattin good luck dagies! edit: illegal picks, already used them this game, new picks in post on next page
  7. sweet! man I just hopped on real quick at "lunch" (midnight chow as we call it on night shift) to check the scores and who scored, and I saw that my pick for sat night didnt score, so I figured I was kicked out. but sweet. i guess ill make my pics this week at some point. good luck dagies!
  8. Fri: Frattin Sat: Gregoire another question, hopefully it wont affect this season at all but..... If you make your picks earlier in the week, and one of your picks gets injured before the game, say at practice, do you get the chance to change your pick?
  9. ok awesome, thanks for the info if you read like 5 posts above yours, it has already been discussed that shootout goals do not count towards Sioux Survivor.
  10. hey is this for just the first time around, or for the whole season?
  11. lol ok I was so surprised, having not followed so well the last few years and just jumping into the game. thanks
  12. making sure, but this means im still in the game right? just me and those other 8 members?
  13. thanks for the suggestion, I put my votes in for this week just a min ago. so when were you here and with whom?
  14. Well it looks like this game starts just after I get off work, and since by then I will be dead tired, and will hav to get back up for work again in like 6 hours, i think ill have to miss the game. That sucks.
  15. I think ill try my hand at this..... Friday: Knight Saturday: Hextall
  16. Well, we used to be, but when 4th ID moved up to Carson, we stayed cause their flightline didnt have the room for all our aircraft. So we are the 4th CAB, but we are technically attached to the III Corps. When we get back from deployment we will move to Fort Bliss and be re-flagged as the CAB for 1st Armored Division who just moved there. thank you for your support. all of us over here really appreciate it. well it is definitely a great thing. they just opened up this computer lab a few days ago and it has been an ice to be working here this week, but the downside is, the way my schedule is, and with the time difference, after I am done working here this week and go back to my normal kind of work, I wont be able to catch the games at all. I'll still have to settle for highlights and commentary by you guys on here
  17. I never went to Iraq, and this is my first deployment, but yeah it is crazy some of the stuff that goes on. But luckily I am not involved with most of that stuff. But we definitely do our part to support the ground forces for all of the ISAF countries. That is what we are here to do. That is our job. And I am proud to do it.
  18. Hey Goon, thanks for the support. I am with the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade
  19. thanks Jim. you ready for this NHL season? The Southeast is gonna be tight with all the moves going on in the off-season. So with Varlamov in the IR now....and a lot of young guys on the roster (A few from the Bears win over the Stars last season in the Calder Cup series, which I am still a little ill over having been to a few of those games in Austin), what is your outlook on the Caps season? Im expecting a tight race for the SE, as I said, but I think Washington and Carolina will be at the bottom. I know Carolina (my team) is a very young team, but we are balanced offensively. Hell the lineup we have right now has 4 scoring lines. 3rd line is Skinner-Jokinen-Ruutu, a lethal line. The defense is the big question. But, do you think you guys can actually get far in the playoffs this season? Make a dent? How many years without a Cup win until Ovie demands out of Washington? I am just curious what your thoughts are and agian, thanks for the support
  20. Hello all. Well, it has been a while since I have been on the forum, but I am finally back. I used to be on here as UNDintheNHL if any of you remember, back about 2005-2008. I joined the Army in early 2009, only about 5 months after getting married, and am now deployed. I finally have some internet connectivity so I wanted to get back on here and catch back up with the wonderful people of Siouxsports.com, and get back into Sioux hockey. I have done a little bit of lurking the last few months, but I have been so busy I wasnt able to do much last season other than check some scores and maybe watch some highlights. So now that things have slowed down, just in time for the season to start, I figure it a good time to come back onto the board. Now that I am in the Army, things are a lot different for me. It has been a tough road so far, but things are looking up. I am a helicopter mechanic, which being an aviation nut, is a wonderful thing. Of course, being over here it is quite difficult to watch some hockey, as the internet is too slow to actually watch games online. I guess I will still have to stick with highlights. Regardless, it is nice to be able to get back on. Hope all is going well with you all. I am PUMPED for this season! GO SIOUX!!! PFC Justin Hamlin, US Army UND Student 2004-2006 (Aviation, PKA)
