  1. Rick - What is your justification for saying you don't think that Foyt will ever see a walk-on?
  2. Foyt left TriCities along with goalie Crawford-West (drafted by Pittsburgh) at the Christmas break. The reason seems to have been financial-TriCities was hurting for cash and sold off 2 of their top players. TriCities also went through a coaching change just before the Christmas break so there may have been other reasons tied up in the trade. But I think Bozeman only sent one player, a defenceman, to TriCities. Crawford-West performed as a lame duck for Bozeman but Foyt was an impact player from the first day. I'm really surprised that Foyt wasn't picked up by other D1 schools if his academic record is as it appears and he played at such a high level. Makes me wonder what's up with a kid who seems to have what it takes to be a Fighting Sioux but didn't sign with anyone else. Can't believe that there weren't any other offers out there but maybe the Bozeman coach didn't see to taking care of business and left the kid to do it all himself. In other words, what's a kid with the potential to play for UND doing with no place to play as late as July?
  3. Just made a phone call and found out the Foyt has received a full-ride academic scholarship. So you're getting a hockey player with a brain to boot.
  4. Good question "Do signees actually sign anything?" What's the difference between Radke and Foyt? The GP Storm article of 15-Aug quotes Radke as saying the UND coach told him he would be replacing David Hale. And yet the Icedogs coach quotes the exact same thing about Foyt. So, if Radke signed and Foyt didn't, doesn't that mean that Radke would get the nod first? I don't think there is any athletic scholarship money riding on Foyt. But I could be wrong.
  5. Not only does Foyt hail from Blaine but he, coincidentally, happens to be best buds with Bochenski. Grew up together, got into a little legal fracas with Brandon in high school and I think they share digs in Blaine in the summers. Foyt was captain of the champion Blaine team in 99 that won the state title, with Bochenski as a linemate. Don't think they will be living together but I bet their off-ice antics will be something to behold. Can anyone actually confirm that Foyt is on the roster or does he still have to go through a walkon tryout situation?
  6. According to the Bozeman Icedogs (awhl) main page (www.bozemanicedogs.com) Scott Foyt, defenceman from Blaine, has been added to your roster. Any insights or thoughts? Small in stature, big in heart. But can he make it as a Sioux?
